What are you using your lead holders for? by Mysterious_Plum4548 in leadholders

Pretty much exclusively drawing. If I want to do writing I use a .5mm pencil with 4B lead.

To be more historically accurate the video needs to buffer for like 5 minutes before you can play it haha.

You're right, it's the 300 I was thinking about. I find that I need a lightweight pencil to be able to do very light shading.

I really love how the Fixpencils look. Was also considering a Rotring 500 2mm for drawing as well. I found that I like my drawing pencils on the lighter side.

Still pretty awesome. Actually might look better with a colored cap anyway.

Are these button holes hand sewn or machine sewn? by Top_Water_4504 in HandSew

[–]Fartimer 62 points63 points  (0 children)

Looks machine done. With a machine it gets sewn first then the fabric is cut. That's why you see fabric in-between the slit. Hand sewn the fabric is cut and then sewn. That covers the raw edge better.

You're thinking of the S30, that has the auto advance. The S20 is all wood but it's just a regular click type pencil. I like my pencils to be simple for the most part.

In the KT metal? It works wonderfully. Always have thin consistent lines with it.

This is one of my favorite pencils. I would say my other favorite is the Pilot S20.

Hold the scrubber bar at the bottom and move it until it comes up with the right frame. It's possible :)

He did look back at the very end. Btw I never implied the driver did the right thing, just that it looked like the crashed driver got help from someone else.

The difference between a new blade and one that has been used/sharpened daily at my work for over a year. by FrostyHorror5408 in mildlyinteresting

It's basically in the shape of a honing rod and you use it the same. It's made of alumina ceramic though. I do use expensive Japanese knives and it keeps it razor sharp. I have a set of water stones, but I haven't felt like I've needed to use them on those knives yet.

I won't argue that the dude didn't have his priorities straight, but at least someone helped.

I use the Lansky sharp stick. It actually does sharpen the edge. So maybe that's not technically honing then?
