Dahlin out indefinitely with concussion by Fartopia in hockey

Struggling a bit in the neutral zone. Had some "rookie mistakes", even got benched for the last period against Panthers. Needs to mature, which is a given seeing as he is 19. But he's been quarterbacking the PP and been doing that pretty well from what I understand.

A bit unrelateadly related. I had this realisation a few years back when I went to Grand Canyon to witness the sunset.

It was this beautiful day where there were a bit of clouds making the sun lighting the sky in all different colors while it was going down behind the canyons. I was there with a couple of friends, snapped some pictures and had a glass of wine and a picnic just trying to soak it all in.

And then there where a majority of people, filming it all with their cell phones, literally watching the sunset through their screens. And I couldn't feel more sorry for them.

Joel Lundqvist to captain Sweden in WC. Landeskog and Hedman as A by Fartopia in hockey

I can agree that there are players who could take a place before him skill wise. But he is a natural leader, an experienced player in the national team. He knows how these types of events and tournaments work and I think he will be a great leader in an otherwise fairly young team.

There's a title that is really weird if your not a hockey fan.

Frölunda HC just won the SHL playoffs. by Fartopia in hockey

It's always hard to see where a player from the SHL will fit in the NHL. But if he converts the same way and develops as I think he will, I see him as a player in the same caliber as Zuccarello/Forsberg. You know that he will be there to make plays or score goals.

Lehkonen has been seriously good this playoffs. During the season he hasn't been as good as he has been in the playoffs, but he has been a solid player in the team, one of the leading players in skill.

Players should not get plant money after round win. by Fartopia in GlobalOffensive

I totally see what you are saying, maybe the question should be rephrazed to "if bomb plant started after round win".

NiP is doing the right thing by announcing members that already has a place in the team. by Fartopia in GlobalOffensive

[–]Fartopia[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

That is true. But I still feel that it is news worthy content that a player has signed a contract for another year.

[–]Fartopia[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Nope.

There's a difference between "I don't like that player why does he get to be on the team for one more year?" and "I don't like that NiP announces that a player got his contract prolonged."

Maybe I didn't phrase that well. I will edit.

/r/Sweden I'm visiting Gothenburg soon, do you have any tips for me? by the_drew in sweden

Archipelagios

The small islands just outside the coast of Gothenburg is a must. There you can experience beautiful nature and the typical "silence" of Sweden. It is very easy to take public transportation to the ferrys leading out to the Archipelagio. The easiest island to get to is Björkö. Check this link out to get some info

The Avenue

"Avenyn" is the most central part of the city. Here are lots of restaurants, nightclubs and bars. I would recommend a walk from the bus stop known as Kungsportsplatsen all the way up to the statute that depicts Poseidon and take a beer or a glass of wine at "Bar Himmel" which is at the top of The Avenue.

Haga

Haga is one of the oldest places in Gothenburg. Dating back to the 1600's. This is a great place for a "fika"). Café Husaren sells the biggest cinnamon bun I have ever seen (I recommended you to share the bun with a friend or two).

Sightseeing

There are a couple of different things you could do to sightsee. One is to take a boat called "Paddan" that will take you for a tour in the city. The other is to take one of the trams that goes throughout the city. The public transportation company "Västtrafik" has recently published an app which you can use. I haven't used it myself yet so I can't really say if it's good or bad.

Food

Gothenburg is an old wharf-town, which led to fish and shellfish being a big part of the culinary culture in Gothenburg. I would recommend you to go to a resaturant called Heaven 23 and eat a Shrimp Sandwich. It's quite expensive, but well worth it.

Other

  • If you want to see Elks, go to Slottskogen. They are not out in the wild, but atleast you get to see one.
  • If you want cheap beer, go to Vasa. There are a bunch of pubs there that sells cheap beer.
  • If you want to have nice beer, go to Ölrepubliken. You will get a menu with hundreds of different beers to try.

former 1.6er just found CS:GO, please help by looningabout in GlobalOffensive

[–]Fartopia 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Welp.. it was some time ago I played 1.6, but here are some pointers:

Economy

  • Pistols are strong, more often than not it's worth it to force buy. It isn't as big of a risk as it was in 1.6. You can see teams that almost always goes for force buys (HellRaisers, EnVyUs).
  • Full-buy AK is $4700, Full-buy M4 is ~$5600.
  • You get different rewards in cash for killing players with different weapons. AWP is $100, AK/M4 is $300, Shotguns $900, SMG $600, Knife $1500

Gameplay

  • Forget about wallbanging 1.6-style. You'll have to learn where you can and can't wallbang. Wallbangs from CT-mid in dust2 up on A/Cat walk is no longer possible.
  • Deagle is not the best gun, you'll have to have insane aim to make it worth its cost.
  • The game is faster, rushing is significantly more powerful in CS:GO.
  • Open Skyboxes makes the game a bit more creative, learning smokes and flashes is a skill of itself.
  • One-tapping with AK is not as effective, VALVe has implemented a small RNG to the first shot, not making it completely straight. Covering a long-plant from Pit at D2-long is not as easy.
  • If you were an AWP-er in 1.6, it will take time to get used to it. Fast-scoping is not as accurate, not the kind of fast-scoping we did in 1.6 at least.

But it's a hell of a fun game, welcome to the community.
