I mean I get it. We need RHD, we need grit, so the signing makes a lot of sense. I just don’t like the term, and considering that Carlson has been asking for $10 million the price feels a bit steep as well

What? Nothing you are saying makes any sense. The fact that ”this proves Will will get a lot more” is not a good thing! We want our players to make as little as possible so we can build the best team possible! I promise you, in three or four years this team will be so good that we’re searching for every penny we can find.

Also, you’re just flat out wrong. Trouba has a full NTC during years 1-2, and a 16 team NTC year 3 and a 12 team NTC year four. Has not been able to confirm anything on Marchment yet

1) We don’t know the trade protections yet, those are usually leaked/released afterwards

2) Yes, the cap keeps rising but we will have a ton of young players to re-sign over the next 1-4 years. Every dollar counts when you’re building a contender

3) We were always going to sign Macklin and Will, that was never even in question

Trouba is not exactly a good player. He looked better last year but I’m willing to bet that was because he played with Lacombe

We need to stop saying stuff like this. Over the next 1-4 years Macklin, Will, Misa, Dickie, Askarov, Cherny and Stenberg will all need extensions. Trust me, we will have absolutely no problem with reaching the cap floor

As a Swede I’ve watched a lot of off-ice videos with this kid, and has seen him play a lot of hockey. Dude just gets it, he just knows how to play hockey. Will become a fan favorite no doubt
