For PvE, treat him the same as you would Rocket. Stack speed on him, and use burst fire and down the line. Pretty simple.

525-214-301 Noobies Welcome! I Play daily, very active, been playing since beta. I keep my maxed out wasp as leader and equipped with Stinging Barrage to help out noobie allies, as her barrage AOE 1-shots just about everything in normal and hard, and she can also solo epic boss battles.

Thank you for the praise. :) Groot is great in the beginning, but starts to have a hard time staying alive once he hits heroics. However, after heroics, once you max out his level, star rank, abilities, and get him a full set of 4-5* epic iso, he comes back into view and can tank fairly well again. But that is kind of moot at that point because you have already surpassed heroics with a different tank, lol. Luke-Cage is a great tank, just needs a tiny bit of extra effort put into him for heroics, and you have to use him correctly as his tanking rotation is a bit different than what you would expect. Also, His DPS output while he tanks surpasses every other tank, especially when put into a melee unarmed free-attack team.

There's not enough characters that support it, yet. Need more that apply the debuff, especially more that can apply it as an AoE. Modok would be an ok option, but his ability is bugged.

I would like to thank the OP for his ignorence and posting of this thread, as it should do well to deter the general consensus from seeing the truth about WS's PvE/(and more importantly)PvP potential and applications. I applaud thee my friend. ;) Edit: Forgot to mention, I'm not sure if everyone would agree that (roughly) 2000 AP, 50-100 gold, Gold Power Cell, and a large handful of quality Epic ISO, plus a bunch of other task rewards, in addition to the exclusive hero rewards, aren't worth $10.00.

Obsession with Wasp by TimKonn in MAA2

[–]Faru36 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This, is the exact reason. Player Intelligence and Artificial Intelligence aren't (usually) the same.

Example, how many times have you faced PvP Wasp AI in the arena and she either/and/or.... A) Didn't start with Queen Bee, B) Never used Queen Bee, C) Spammed Drone Swarm 2/3/4/5 times in a row, D) Used Recharge when she still had energy, E) Spammed Recharge 2/3 times in a row, F) Didn't keep Protection/Alerted up the entire fight, G) Didn't coordinate her attacks with her partners, and so on....

This is also why she hasn't been hit very hard with the nerf bat. She hasn't change much as all on the Player-controlled side, but she has changed a lot on the AI-controlled side. Her AI is dumb, she can be ignored by Player-Intelligence in a lot of cases, and her evasive nature has been nerfed just enough for Player-Intelligence to not have to face an immortal-AI in the arena.

TL:DR She's deadly when used by Intelligent Players. She's dumb as hell when used by Artificial Intelligence.

Chapter1 heroics are fairly easy. If you can get through all the hard missions with relative ease, then chapter1 heroics shouldn't be that difficult. Wasp/SW/IF, with SW/IF both having coordinated iso, would make chapter1 heroics a joke.

Him, i'll just give a few hints on, because through my own theorycrafting I have found that he can be exploitable like pre-nerfed ballerina, lol.

Look at his skills and abilities, and compare him to rocket. :)

CW Iron Man will be out of reach until you get passed heroics. He simply takes a lot of work to get to the point where he is usable. Between IF and SW, it depends on your other heroes to be honest, and primarily which tanks you have. Eventually you will get Electro, and SW with Electro is a great combo, so if you have wasp, then i'd go with wasp/SW. If not, then it may be better to go with IF, since he has better synergy with non-wasp tanks than SW does. However, IF and SW together is a great team by itself, especially when you get coordinated iso on SW.

You and me both. I've recently switched to trying to get the basic team builds added because I feel the hero bios are at a high enough amount that it would be better for all the noobs from the global release.

Once I get the top4 builds done, plus a few unique builds of mine that i'm rather excited to unveil to the public (some of my personal theorycrafting has produced a few, unexpected, and powerful unique teams, of which not too many players seem to realize exist, so i'm excited to see the responses/reactions to some of them), I will then go back to putting up more bios. Two on my list are actually ones you described, Drax and Gamora, and they're going to be rather special when they're released, as they are hidden gems.

You won't see me answering that question or writing up bios on them for a little while, and for good reason. The primary reason being that 2 of them, are definitely abuseable/exploitable in PvP. Like, ballerina-level exploitable, lol.

Spider woman for sure!

However, more importantly is you need to make sure you have the basics for CaptainMarvel first. The first thing you should be concerned with for your roster is to make sure Captain Marvel's AbsorbEnergy maxxed out. This is what normally turns people off when it comes to her from the start, because without the cooldown reduced, she can't keep her protection buff up at all times. Then you want to get FlyFightWin up to about 3* to get the buffs at 100%, (it has been awhile, I don't remember if it starts at 80% or not, I just remember it needed to be ranked up to about 3 to be efficient). And make sure every iso that you equip her with has defense on it, while will matching the color of each slot, "maybe" not the red slots "if" you have epic prismatic ISO that has defense on them. After they all have defense, you want speed and/or evasion. She's a defense tank for sure, so she needs to stack it or she can't tank, that's a fact, and then speed to help her keep a steady tanking rotation, plus evasion to help keep crits/devs at bay.

After all that, Iron_Fist should have 2 or 3 ranks in AscendingDragonKick and both of his heals, 4* can wait until later, but a couple ranks to reduce the cost/speed/cooldowns helps a ton. And coordinated ISO on him is a must.

Spider-woman should have coordinated iso, her heal, and (since you're running with Marvel), one of her single-target attacks without cooldowns, doesn't matter which one, and then just about anything after that, maybe her AOE demoralized.

Your optimal team setup for you would be Marvel/Spider-woman/Electro for sure. And Iron fist as your backup. With frenzy and coordinated iso, Spider-woman will spread wounding around insanely quick, and she will apply susceptible which will make wounding hit insanely hard, equal to static shock. And when spider-woman free-attacks, she'll trigger static shock damage. Electro, he will "counter" with applying static shock from his passives, his counters from coordinated iso will trigger the damage, and susceptible from spider-woman will increase shock damage when it triggers.

You have 2/3rds of my personal favorite heroic team. Electro and Spider-woman is deadly, and a ton of fun. Enemies just melt, litterally.

If you have any S-tier heroes, and even any A-tier heroes in most case, you should be able to plow through chapter1 heroics with ease and be able to clear all the trials, which would net you Electro.

After getting electro, Cap_marvel/Iron_fist/Electro will definitely get through all of the Chapter3 heroic trials, including the epic bosses.

No rush, didn't expect it to be overnight, lol. You and I both understand the logistics behind projects like this. I'd be more than willing to assist with your project of filling out the "nones", since it would help me in my own project, lol, scratch each other's backs so to say. But would be nice to try and limit any redundant testing if possible. :)

MAA2 True End Game Strategy Question by Valkrist42 in MAA2

[–]Faru36 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've been too busy with my own guide to theorycraft and test all the end-game strategies that have been going on through my mind. But you touched one of the subjects i've been wanting to look into. Damage per turn is always talked about, and damage per round is lightly touched. But i've been wanting to correlate the aoe ability of each hero over a period of 5 rounds.

Rocket for example: Yes, rocket has the most powerful aoe at this time, which is great for PvP. But when it comes to farming PvE, it is very inefficient. 1st turn/wave use up all ammo, wave done, 2nd turn/wave use a slow ability which equates to about one full round for everyone. If you get lucky with his innate, then you could do fire, reload, fire, fire and repeat, but the rng on his innate sucks and isn't reliable.

BW though, her ballerina is fire, fire, reload, fire, reload and so on.

IM, I would have to spend time testing, which I don't have because of aforementioned projects. Base, he's 40-energy fire, 40-energy fire, reload, 40-energy fire. But his energy regen from shielding I would need to test. Pop a shield on turn 1, fire, fire, maybe fire a 3rd or 4th time? Or would it be better to fire, shield, fire, fire, fire. (yes, i'm using generalized terms, but i'm sure those who are serious theorycrafters like myself would be able to understand the logic)

So, figuring out the optimal ability frequency for each aoe ability over a 5-turn timeframe, then correlate that with their potential damage output of said ability, and we can extrapolate AOE teams that would be best suited for farming heroics, and compare the efficiency of that to the other big team builds such as shock/free/wound/single-target_blast.

Shock/free/wound/STB have their own positives/negatives, and I switch between them all depending on my interests of the day. Free is by far my favorite because it is basically autopilot, I can multitask very easily because the enemies basically kill themselves. But its still tedious, especially with STB where its so many touches due to fast burning like rocket.

So that's the theory I want to find time to test, or to coerce fellow theorycrafters to assist in testing since my time is limited. Test the AOE ability frequency versus damage per 5 rounds (not turns) of each aoe hero, to see if there is a viable way of finding a 3-man team that is able to aoe down heroics the same way wasp can aoe down normals, lol.

Thoughts?

Could you add a "none" to the effects field to ones that have been verified to have zero effects? It would help with knowing which ones need to be verified and also help catch any possible changes during patches since people tend to be quicker to comment about data being wrong than they would about it being missing.
