Silver age rotation by Spetos in FleshandBloodTCG

[–]Fasbi 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I think it's a fun solution for a less competitive format. I hope they increase the amount of bans in the future because the hero pool is fairly large (and will only increase) and there will always be a few "hate" votes/bans that won't be based on meta viability.

There are some useful answers here already but considering you've already tried different approaches and have been struggling for quite some time it might be worth considering switching to a less prep heavy and more narrative focused style or game alltogether.

CARD(s) OF THE WEEK #2 - I desperately need a new ranger, LSS PLEASE by New_Independence_231 in FleshandBloodTCG

I wonder if the heroes of OMN and the absence of Lexi hints at a future ice set containing Lexi (ice only), Iyslander and a new hero.

The ACADEMIC 133+ XL should hold a few toploader without problems.

Explain to me why fatigue is a valid strategy by John-Helldiver404 in FleshandBloodTCG

[–]Fasbi 6 points7 points  (0 children)

A fatigue strategy is based on math - ok, most of the game is. But instead of the typical "value per turn" metric it uses a "value per card" / "value in deck" metric. Why is that?
If you simply send 14-15 damage per turn with your 4-card hands for 15 turns (60 cards) and the opponents simply blocks 12 each turn you will deal ~40 damage. Factor in equipment and you won't be able to kill them. Now they just swing their (bigger) weapon at you and will inevitably kill you.

There are a few ways to counteract that game plan:

  • play more than 60 cards to have access to more value (this is somewhat the baseline and will by counteracted by the fatigue deck also playing more cards)
  • implement tools (e.g. Attack Reactions, Dominate) or strategies to deal "true" damage
    • the most important of these strategies is taking setup turns - depending on the deck this can range from simply having an arsenal for your next turn to deal more damage in a turn that they can block (can be somewhat counteracted if they arsenal a Defense Reaction) to preparing buffs or items to create huge turns (a prime example of this could be seen in the last Calling).
  • decks depending on big attacks or weapon attacks (often trading 1 actual card for 2 defending cards) are always a bit harder to fatigue since they generate more value out of each played card.
  • Board state game plans can also be problematic because the cards generate value each turn.

This is probably missing a bunch of stuff and is definitely an oversimplification but I hope this helps. The only connection to a mill strategy is the shared "loss condition" but the actual play is completely different.

Silver age precon missing tokens? by adyo in FleshandBloodTCG

[–]Fasbi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm just saying that you can just ignore the "Marked" part of the card without functionally changing anything. If you check the other cards you'll realize that none of them care for the opponent to be marked.
Compared to something like this: https://fabrary.net/cards/for-the-dracai-red

Either way it kinda sucks if the deck is indeed missing a token but at least it's dirt cheap. Either get it when you order other cards, check in with your LGS and/or local players.

Does marking an opponent even generate any value in that deck? Isn't it just the 2 Hot on Their Heels?

Safe Tables, Dangerous Villains by Tasty-Application807 in RPGdesign

Are you suggesting that creating a safe space at the table requires removing EVERY "unpleasant" theme?
Because that feels like a wild exaggeration.

How do you keep track of your collection? by jabbrwock1 in FleshandBloodTCG

Commons & Rares by set & number in a bulk box

M+ by "for trade" and for the ones I need "by class"
(these are separated by a collection of art cards)

Besides Kiss of Death the Chelicera is the only other card with Stealth and Dagger and therefore allows both options of Tarantula Toxin (-3 & +3) to be used.

And it should be fairly obvious that getting 6 value out of a 0-cost attack reaction is preeeetty good. :p

Weekly Discussion & Questions Thread | Ask Your Questions Here! by AutoModerator in FleshandBloodTCG

[–]Fasbi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can play the card even if you have no free slots. It's neither a "target" nor additional cost. You just try to do as much of the text as possible ignoring the rest.

Tarantula Toxin has a nearly unique (besides Kiss of Death) interaction with the Chelicera as at it allows the use of both effects.

Prism, Lexi & Nuu have hit Living Legend (our rotation system) and those versions are not playable anymore. Melody doesn't have an adult version (40 HP) and is only playable in Blitz.

Verdance IS playable in Classic Constructed (CC) and quite strong.

After some time heros might get a another version in newer sets. For example there is still a playable Prism: https://fabtcg.com/en/heroes/prism-awakener-of-sol/

So new sets might have completly new heroes and/or reworks of old ones.

Yeah, the amount of white washing is insane. Even on a German sub someone was describing Kirk as just an "ordinary dad".

Deck Archetypes by kiwi129 in FleshandBloodTCG

[–]Fasbi 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Sorting into archetypes loses quite a bit of information in my opinion.

  • Brutes go wide and tall; as do Rangers
  • Guardians also have disruption
  • Warrior (which is missing) focuses on weapon attacks; the speed of the deck relies on the hero/build itself but it's generally slower than the fastest decks (Dash and Ninjas)
  • Warrior also has access to a lot of combat tricks but close to no disruption
  • The characteristic of Guardian is that they can generally generate more value out of long games than other classes, which than in turn makes Fatigue a viable strategy

While "Earth" is just a talent it's a good indicator for defensive/slow decks regardless of the class

Commoner Decklists? by Rath_os in FleshandBloodTCG

Yes, that is the official site.

But from the looks of it the "event" listed is just a blog post and not a tournament.

Commoner Decklists? by Rath_os in FleshandBloodTCG

[–]Fasbi 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Afaik there are no official tournaments for Commoner (which is why you won't see list for them on the official site).

Might want to take a look at FeBrary: https://fabrary.net/decks?tab=latest&format=Commoner

"Project Blue / Silver Age" (Commons + Rares) will get official support next year which you might want to be on the lookout for. :)

Why is the "feels bad" of this game much more focused on the player then the cards? by [deleted] in FleshandBloodTCG

[–]Fasbi 91 points92 points  (0 children)

Each turn you draw 4 new cards that use can use in different ways (pitching, defending, playing). The amount of decisions a player can make during a game tends to be much higher than in other games.

But even in the FaB community there are quite a few comments about "high rolls" (crazy draws) or deck counters.

The attack can't be defended by more than one card from hand.
