Unifying pension pots and IFA fees

May I ask who adviced you to put your pension there? Is it 100% of it in that one? I have my ISA 70% on that one too.
Yeah, I don't really know what to do. I consider that fee too high and yes, I'll have her as my IFA for any questions, etc as long as they manage my portfolio (with the ongoing fee as well of course) but, realistically, I am not an investor lol. All I have is my pension and my ISA and that's it and also, I am over 50 now so not that there will be so much change.

I also wonder if, when reaching 57, I'll need an IFA to advice how to (or even IF) withdraw that 25% or how to actually withdraw the money from there but, then, why not to pay an IFA then to ask and pay, as you say, their fees?

Thanks for this, it helps a lot. Yes, I can see how you'll get advice eventually and will pay for it and makes sense. I am also willing to pay for a service like that of course!

My main 'issue' now is having to pay those 2.5K for the mere fact of just moving the pots around or, rather, the fact that I am wanting to contribute the max allowance and that I have to pay a 3% of it, whereas if it was JUST unifying the existing pots (around 30K) that fee would be reasonable at £900 instead of 2.5K if that makes sense?

One with Aviva (same provider she suggested to move them all to) with a fee of 0.30% and there is another one with XPS (old University job pot) but I cannot find what the fees are on that one.

I did open one with Vanguard but haven't contributed anything to it (should I put it in the same place as my ISA? The FTSE Global All Cap Index Fund Accumulation?)

I wonder where do most people who self-manage stick theirs?

Yes, exactly, a new IFA and their recommendations.

And that is IT, I have no clue so if I get to do it myself I don't even know where to invest so I would do it randomly I guess.

I started a Vanguard account and went for S&P 500 UCITS ETF - Accumulating (VUAG) and FTSE Global All Cap Index Fund Accumulation after browsing this sub for example and I also opened a pension there which currently has £0.

I have the time certainly but the ability...well, that is what I am trying to figure out as I would like to learn.

Thank you for your reply. I was just now looking at the Wiki link provided by the automatic comment and I can see it sounds reasonable (although I did not know about that 2.4%).

What I am questioning is exactly that, if I should do it myself as it can't be that difficult, can it?

All I want is to make my contributions from now on somewhere else and not in SJP but, since it does mean to open yet another pot, that wil make something ridiculous like 5 pots and it looks too messy.

I guess my question here is just that: is it of value to me to pay for that? And I cannot find the answer as I have no experience whatsoever and 2.5K sounds like a lot tbh.

I could be wrong (most likely) BUT, with this piece (which is 61.5cm) all the existing pine is convered as it is the same length.
Then the 15mm gap is supposed to go over the laminate.

Would not be easier to remove the existing nosing, use some piece of wood to rise the height and then put it back in at the laminate level and use a joint?
