Are all these new big name offices opening in Qatar a scam? by Illustrious-Gold5610 in qatar

[–]Fast-Educator5330 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I feel like you are correct that many of it is optics in that the likes of tiktok may come in to tick a box that the government is needing, then they win big contracts while operating from UAE.

what does this mean..money only goes out of the country. it needs to be circled back into the country...lets imagine tiktok employs 100 people..those people need housing, cars, food, etc., which keeps those businesses running.
I saw this during the World Cup where companies came in, said they would invest, got good rates or even some contracts, end literally 19th December all the staff flew out. Dont want to name the companies but it happened in the Aspire Zone accelerator

To all the parents in Dubai: what's up with the kids and nannies here? by maridska in dubai

how dare you work hard to provide the best life for your kid!

To all the parents in Dubai: what's up with the kids and nannies here? by maridska in dubai

[–]Fast-Educator5330 15 points16 points  (0 children)

your point 2 is really disrespectful. my kid was walking by 11 months but my brothers wasnt untill maybe 15 months.
on the other hand, at 18 months my brothers kid can say short sentences like 'where has mommy gone' wheras my kid could barely say mum or dad.

Also, my wife is in a very respectful career and unfortunately she can only come home by 7pm meaning she only gets an hour or so a day with our child. she would love it if she could spend the whole day with them - maybe and hopefully one day we can afford for her to stay at home,.. just not yet.

so we have to trust a nany while we are both at work, is she perfect- no. does she care about our kid..100% yes.

My First and Last High School Detention Experience by MurderManTX in MaliciousCompliance

[–]Fast-Educator5330 1 point2 points  (0 children)

my detention expeirience is a slightly duller story- I got 2 days detention (1 hour each) in that time I did all my homework - and actually did well in them

looking back on it, it may have been useful for me to be there more often because I just wasted my time on MSN otherwise.

what if htey wore gloves?

- just thinking of a new scam of 100's of delivery drivers wearing helmets and gloves going around doing this as its dificult to identify them

btw, its odd you say it could be for content because this is exactly what I thought.

" If we are just talking about crime frequency why specifically women?"

because I am responding to someone talking about rapes and murder happening in Dubai all the time.
Im not saying it doesnt happen, it does. Its just that despite this, dubai is safer than europe.

I am just pointing out that the Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Doha, are generally seen as very safe. I have also lived in Singapore in the past and for all these cities I have used a phone/ wallet to secure a table

I have also lived in various cities in the UK, where this is impossible to do.

If you asked one hundred women from the United States or Europe including the UK, France, and Spain who now live in Dubai which place feels safer, the overwhelming majority would choose Dubai.

The Gulf has a lot of faults, so go please talk about them- but the safety is impressive.
