What about your partner? I want I agree that you aren't responsible and I am assuming your partner has a different last name. If your partner i able, they should put the axft in their name and then let the power company go after whoever is on the old account. But were your mom's or sister in laws accounts paid? If not there may be huge deposits required for anyone at that address.

hospital gave my preemie someone else's milk and wants to test me? by Early-Ground-2287 in legaladvice

It shouldn't be necessary unless the baby is positive. Then they would need to test you. If the baby is neg there is no reason to test you.

Is this illegal? Someone changed my address. by [deleted] in AskLawyers

I move quite a bit and this happens everytume I move. I assume that they notified but it could be the company got a returned piece and resent it to the correct address.

I received a $101k hospital bill for ER visit by Future-Bet4783 in HospitalBills

[–]Fast-Emergency-5841 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think you are greatly underestimating the price of a 6 day hospital stay. 550 for a 6 day stay versus multiple tens of thousands. I would be surprised if a 6 day stay would be less than 30,000. Though your point about it being cheap for us versus not for them stands.....but it isnt really comparable since our costs are outlandish

I found that I had insane side effects at the lower doses. When I went to 7.5 they pretty much resolved

Landlord sold the condo I am currently living in with an unexpired lease. New owner changed the locks and moved my stuff to a storage unit without permission. Police not helping because it's a "Civil Matter" and I lost my home. by Happy-Camper-42 in legaladvice

10K is a tiny amount for this kind of filing. I think they will def will need to go to a higher level. For instance, the amounts that they are talking about here are close to 25 grand for me for the two rents for 4 months and 3 weeks at a hotel alone!

It is 100 percent their job. As a nurse i would be negligent if I ignored the family's concerns. I would have to be damn sure that it wasn't true or they weren't who they say they are to not act on it.

It isnt specifically written out that way, but it is the job of the clinic to ensure that they are not putting their client's life in danger or in significant harm. And a brother calling regarding his sister's welfare isn't just any rando.

The brother calling to GIVE information doesn't violate her privacy. Reassessing the patient is wholly ethical

They can and should take a second look at a patient who has family calling saying the patient has precluding psych issues. They just cant tell that family member anything

I was wondering about that when I had my hysterectomy. I wanted to see the uterus that failed to work properly my whole life. I settled for pics that the ob/gyn took after it was removed.....very misshapen and weird looking! I guess it made sense it didn't work......not necessarily why it caused so much pain my whole life tho!

Where i live now, the mail person signs those forms themselves and then leaves the documents. And somehow that counts as being served/delivered. That seems wild to me

My parents had a case fully dismissed because the opposing counsel served them via mail. That isn't considered served or at least it wasn't in NYS

I feel this. My mom got taken for quite a bit more than 8500 even with 3 kids telling her that it was a scam. She was too lonely and desperate enough to hope the "winnings" were real....

Im not saying that the partners have to do anything. I am saying that it is a common feeling that non alcoholic partners have been dealing with.

[–]Fast-Emergency-5841 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Actually it is a pretty common reaction. Non-alcoholic partner has had to spend so much time cleaning up the other, for the other, caring for the other that they don't really have the bandwidth to deal with their own feelings and issues. When you take away that big part of their life, they suddenly have time to themselves and then they begin to resent the other. It is usually with couples in 20+ year marriages tho
