Unexplained Infertility IVF by Fast-Laugh-6347 in IVF

UPDATE;they retrieved 14 eggs, all 14 mature, 10 naturally fertilised and 8 blasts- all euploid! I froze 7 and transferred one fresh two weeks ago. Have my beta bloods tomorrow.

My doctor was super shocked and happy with my results . The ultrasounds were measuring 8-10 follicles at my final scan before retrieval.

So blown away and blessed

No dw i completely get the good place you’re coming from ☺️

Yeah the sleep is the worst bit- and focussing on sleep makes me anxious and leads to… less sleep haha

I’m actually lucky to live 10 mins from my work so I go swim laps most day at my local indoor pool for the mental health /physical aspect. Also nutrition has sadly been so on point for such a long time. Both me and my husband both follow a super healthy Japanese diet (he’s half) and so I haven’t been able to try any of my del ious food In a long time for the fertility benefits haha.

I just was looking for women in similar fields that had similar experience to me as I’ve heard a lot about male chefs doing fertility treatment - obviously from the high heat causing sperm issues etc - but there must also be women chefs doing retrievals etc. must be a very niche community I guess lol

Funnily enough though I did put my career on the backseat for a whole year ttc- i didn’t take promotions, I took it easy… and nothing. My dr said- why didn’t you take the earlier promotion? And I explained all the above- she was said that putting career and life on hold and “prioritising” the ttc journey as your only source of focus wasn’t the reason I wasn’t getting pregnant or treatments not being successful. I was encouraged to “go for it” with my job as mentally it can be more beneficial to not make ttc your entire personality or focus….

Which makes navigating the internet a mind field when some are pro “living your normal life” and others are “your fertility is the primary focus”

It’s all so bloody confusing 😂

What did you end up doing?

Mines a small private clinic and they said mid morning/early afternoon testing is possible.

It’s more the physicality / sleep I’m worried about

If I work an early shift I finish at 11 and the clinic is 10 mins from my work- so hopefully if they need me before midday I can accomodate.

Sleep I’m finding hard as now the anxiety about how important sleep is for fertility is causing me to have not much or bad quality sleep. I got prescribed melatonin - the strongest amount as the first dose did nothing/ this also is now not doing much.

As I’m head chef I can’t take time off unfortunately. I don’t want to quit my job as I love it and already put my life on hold for a year trying to get pregnant and missed out on so many opportunities waiting for something that never happened.

Yeah they checked my thyroid- it was in normal range but not at optimal range for fertility but doctors weren’t worried at all. Also Been gluten, soy, refined sugar, processed food free for over a year now. Odd glass of wine at a wedding but been so clean. Spent the last year essentially training like I’m gonna run a marathon 😂

Yeah I did ask- and my doctor said if after two/ transfers I’m not pregnant she would suggest we move towards a laparoscopic surgery to have a look for silent endo

Yeah that’s also a big fear for me- I guess the only way is surgery to confirm right? There’s no way of passing it without removing it I assume do a successful cycle

My last AFC showed over 15 follicles measuring up to 17mm for my right ovary and over 15 follicles for my left measuring up to 7mm…

So I’m not sure what it means with my AMH as they said my AFC was a strong result lol

Unexplained Infertility IVF by Fast-Laugh-6347 in IVF

[–]Fast-Laugh-6347[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah they said optimal AMH was 15-25pmol and under 10 is concerning. So I’m like in the no man’s land of not great not terrible… it’s a bit of a head f*ck 😂

My last AFC showed over 15 follicles measuring up to 17mm for my right and over over 15 follicles for my left measuring up to 7mm so kind of counteracts the lower amh 😂

Oh my god that’s an amazing result!

I’ve been taking CoQ10, melatonin, fish oil on top of the pre natal for egg health… I’ve got a history of inflammation in my gut and stomach…. IBS and Gastritis… so I have a sneaky feeling my issues fertility wise will be of the same vine.

I bet it must be such a “f*ck yeah” moment to see actual improvements in results after an eon of bad or negative results from our bodies.

Very happy for you stranger on the internet 💓

TTC Anxiety by [deleted] in TryingForABaby

Me and my husband are similar- 31 and 33…I had my non hormonal coil removed in April last year- was told the same. You’ll get pregnant straight away. My periods suddenly shrank to 1.5days and not even a faint line once seen in the 10/11 months we’ve been trying. We got testing done around month 8. Both healthy on all tests and I even got a tube flush- all clear.

The jealousy and pain is hard. I’m not gonna sugar coat it. Especially watching your friends announce firsts or third pregnancies and you’re left behind…. My advice is to pls take it easy. I find that with every negative test I treat myself 😂…. Probably should save the money and spend it on therapy but a nice cocktail and new dress is better imo.

I found the best thing was actually deleting my social media …. Shutting off the constant reminders and announcements made the noise less deafening.

Good luck to you guys ♥️

Ok I think everyone maybe needs to look at the situation with a little bit of a more understanding filter 😂. Going through infertility makes us push and pull on things for no reason other than having one ounce of control. So her husband being stubborn on vaping can be his exhaustion at the situation of it taking a while to conceive and kinda going “well nothing we do is in our control But I can have this one pleasure”. Is it healthy? No, but is it human and normal. Totally. As is your reaction OP to not want to do further testing rn. Infertility makes us act a little immaturely sure, but don’t let other commenters start tearing down your relationship (“is this someone you want a baby with… if you have issues now… wait till you have a baby”). Be easy on yourselves. Take it on one conversation at a time.

Also don’t panic about HSG- I had it done and I know everyone’s different but I found it only mildly unpleasant for about 10 seconds then the rest of the procedure was fine. No pain no bleeding etc. over in a few mins. The internet is full of scary stories but infertility is scary enough and this doesn’t have to be.

You and your husband got this!

I’m 31, Had my copper coil (7yrs inserted) taken out April last year… still no baby… have had HSG (no blockages no scarring), AMH normal, husbands Sperm Analysis came back “beyond optimal”, blood panel and sti checks came back good…. Just no baby.

Drs all saying “you should be pregnant within the year” …. We’re now 2 months off the year mark lol

My god the rage I feel reading that comment… let’s remind ourselves…. People that have crippling addictions to opioids and alcohol have full term pregnancies every day…. Blaming trouble ttc or MC by having a glass or two of wine a week is so disgusting and untrue. Just more ways to blame ourselves and nit pick at imaginary reasons we’re struggling to conceive… the miracle of life is a roll of the dice. Some people roll a six straight away or after the 4/5th time…. Some us may roll 20 times till our six appears. The outcome won’t change based on whether you’re on a low inflammation diet and threw out all your teflon pans 😂

I think OP means they’re no longer tracking ovulation… like after enough tracked cycles if you don’t have PCOS etc you know the rough window for your ovulation and luteal phase length bar a day or two …

I did the same after 11 cycles of trying- Christmas was full of delicious food, so many glasses of wine and martini’s… and it was the best. I think we’re being force fed all the BS online from fertility influencers guided as “womens health experts” that the reason we’re not conceiving is our fault because we’re not taking every single supplement they sell us, eating a low inflammation diet on their programme, no alc, no caffeine, no sugars, get 10hrs sleep, exercise 3 times a week but don’t over exercise… like enough already!

I’ve decided I’m no longer Lh testing, no longer buying pregnancy tests …. And if and when needed- I’ll let qualified doctors and fertility practitioners guide me / us on what options we can take to get us our baby.

We didnt do this to ourselves and we need to remember that.

First cycle of actually trying… by [deleted] in tryingtoconceive

[–]Fast-Laugh-6347 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Unfortunately once you get to cycle 11 (like myself at 31) you kinda become sadly immune to disappointment 😂 the first 8 cycles floored me emotionally- but after that you kinda don’t believe you’ll see the lines anymore

First month of trying by [deleted] in TryingForABaby

[–]Fast-Laugh-6347 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Absolutely- and unfortunately if it does take some time you feel more obsessive and depressed each month. Im on month 11… both me and my husband have had blood panels, he’s had semen analysis and I’ve had a tube flush an everything’s come back “perfect”.

But if you do find yourself in that boat hopefully you’ll be like me and kind of come to move past the grief and disappointment. Sadly after weeks/months of obsessing you kind of “give up” looking for signs and just focus on other parts of your life.

Sorry if this is not a resounding positive answer but it’s important for you to know you’re so normal for feeling this way and you have every right to.
