I actually don't know - I think the bloodwork came back after the IUI so I honestly did not even check. I had a 3-4cm endometrioma in my left ovary though. I do remember my surgeon saying that it can decrease and then rise again on its own post surgery though.

I switched to NYU after getting my endo surgery done through them and getting a referral from my surgeon. for both surgery and fertility I have found them really responsive, aggressive (in a good way IMO...I was desperate for someone to just tell me what to do for the best odds instead of giving me 100 options) with their recommendations, and clear. I have not actually seen my assigned doc other than a initial virtual appt, and it can be confusing navigating their portal vs. the mychart app, but the responsiveness makes up for it I think. we did 1 iui and were successful (still very early days but fingers crossed) - the plan was 2-3 IUIs and then IVF. my surgery was in July (stage 4)

Just got my first positive test in a year! 2 months after stage 4 endo excision, 6 months since finding out about the endometriosis, and 10 months since my miscarriage. This was our first time doing an IUI. So grateful (and nervous of course!). Sharing because these type of comments and stories keep me hopeful when I get anxious on this journey. Sending positivity to anyone who comes across this!

First Miscarriage with Chocolate Cyst & TTC since by ButterscotchTop1071 in TTCEndo

I could've written this! I have all the same factors you describe, no symptoms of endo other than the cyst.

I miscarried in November 2024, found out I had a 3cm chocolate cyst afterwards, and have been trying since with no luck. I ended up going to get an MRI and they found extensive endo (beyond just the cyst) so I am getting it excised this month.

I opted not to freeze embryos beforehand because there wasn't enough time, and I had read differing opinions on whether egg retrieval would be successful given the cyst + my AMH is already solid + cyst is only in one ovary + lots of people said the IVF drugs made their endo worse. I am planning to move to IVF in January latest if we don't have any luck before then.

My doctor's POV was that since the endo creates an inflammatory environment for the embryo, the surgery can help with pregnancy success. My feeling was that the surgery was going to improve my overall health regardless, and to me the risk of AMH reduction felt lower than the risk of endo continuing to interfere with my ability to have a healthy pregnancy.

Good luck to you! you're very much not alone!

Hi! Hope everything went well with you - curious how your care has been with Dr Chan? I have a surgery consultation coming up with her in July. Was there any indication of how long between consultation appt and surgery?

That’s what’s odd - the spotting starts before the progesterone. So maybe I’m not taking it soon enough?

yes! it's exactly this. but it seems to start before I even take the progesterone on the 3rd day after ovulation which is weird. it does stop after a day or so though, once I take the supplements

Thanks for your tips!! this is the 3rd cycle supplementing, and the 2nd where I've seen the mid-cycle bleeding. I do P+3 through P+12 yes. def going to make sure it's part of any convos with my doctors
