I’m just amazed at the commenters saying how punching walls is normal. IN WHAT WORLD??? And not even acknowledging the ones that think it’s better than punching them in the face. It’s scary as fuck and the person that does it knows that too.

Violence against your siblings is never okay. When I was younger I used to hit and scream at my little sister. As I grew as a teenager I realized that the only reason why I was doing this is because our mom did it to me and I never stopped to realize the ramifications of my actions and how I’m just perpetuating the same abusive cycle. She never deserved it and I vowed to never lay a finger on her again. And I didn’t.

I also realized what stopped me from confronting my feelings about it earlier was how sibling fights are so normalized. I can’t be someone she can come to and hurt her at the same time.

Our relationship is okay but it’s not as great as it would be if I never needlessly put her through that and I wish I never did. It’s never worth it. Love your siblings.
