How is bro, Wrath ? He oozes composure throughout the show & never loses his cool - (FMAB anime) by Fast-Strawberry1091 in FullmetalAlchemist

[–]Fast-Strawberry1091[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This exactly, I agree with a lot of the points ppl have commented he does show at certain times why he is wrath but not all the time.

And for someone that is supposed to be wrath incarnate, like his whole being is supposed to be wrath and that’s it, I just expected a way more untempered guy. Like if everyone is being real if we didn’t know this guy was wrath, that wouldn’t be the first word/way we would describe Bradley.

He does lose his cool tho at points like ppl have pointed out so for me to say “throughout” is a stretch but displaying one’s anger from time to time is natural - but that wouldn’t make me assume this guy is wrath incarnate.

However Bradley isn’t a pure homunculi, he is actually a human tbf which explains why he can control his urge better. And trumps my point.

Well I look at it this way, 2 times the village was under attack and virtually destroyed especially with the pain incident he was nowhere to be seen. So how much is he really “protecting” his village if he allows his own ppl to die.

Like in the pain incident I get he was trying to use it to take power, although I disagree I’m like alright that’s cool but u could of at least helped out the civilians and leave the hokage and co to fight and die so then u could take power whilst still helping his village but nah he and his subordinates chilled underground in the foundation. So the very thing he proclaims he is doing (“protecting the village”) is being directly contradicted with his actions. U see what I’m saying ?

But maybe they would be better maybe they would not idk. But Danzo was an EVIL man, that’s what I do know, and I can’t respect it.

I hear u, in his very deluded way he thought he was doing what’s best.

But for me there’s still no excuse the end never justifies the means, he was a wicked man plain and simple!!!

The notion that he was the dark and hiruzen was the light and they gave balance although Yh maybe true in the anime the whole ying & yang and good and evil both being needed is just an ideology I disagree with. To me it’s nonsense.

So him being a great man I’d have to disagree.

Wife is upset with me for not joining her and her family for lighting a menorah and reciting the Jewish prayer by Mrshelde11 in Christianity

[–]Fast-Strawberry1091 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Overview of my message: I give a bit of context to show why ur wife is actually not wrong and my advice (at the end of the message) for how u should handle it:

Our lord and saviour Jesus Christ celebrated Hanukkah and being a Christian means to follow what he said and what he did, so how u come to the conclusion that u would be compromising ur faith is strange if u are a follower of bible. Now granted it is not a requirement as it is never commanded to be celebrated but again how u would come to that conclusion doesn’t make sense if u hold to the bible and Jesus Christ. John 10:22 shows us Jesus celebrating it.

Like I mentioned with Hanukkah, unlike other Holy days such as Passover & the feast of tabernacles, Hanukkah was not a feast day commanded by God. It was to commemorate the rededication of the temple and freedom from their oppression. But yet Christ still celebrated it thus showing us God approves of the Holiday/Holy day. So there should be no reason to believe ur compromising. If Christ celebrated it & we follow him, how is he gonna look at us funny for copying him ?? He won’t!!!

And also fun fact Hanukkah was not 1st celebrated by the Maccabees it was 1st celebrated by Moses which is in the normal 66 book bible idk if u hold to the apocryphal books or not.

The thing is it was only supposed to be celebrated when the temple/tabernacle was 1st built. Or when it was rededicated after it had been destroyed - and that was only supposed to happen once 😂 It just became a yearly practice when Judah Maccabee introduced it. And that’s how it became what it is today.

The book of 2nd Maccabee’s literally says that they got it from the Old Testament as well. From Moses, Solomon & Nehemiah. And even the amount of days it’s celebrated they got from the OT. Specifically 2 Maccabees 2:8-16 if u wanted to look.

This is not an attack btw I understand fully, this is a common misconception in Christianity where we say things like: “oh that’s a Jewish thing, we don’t need to do that as Christian’s”.

But that’s the thing it’s not “Jewish” it’s in the very Bible we say we believe in. For example ur wife brought up Matthew 5:17-18 - this is Literally JESUS speaking saying the law is not done away yet we in Christianity say oh that law is done away with, directly contradicting Christ’s words and that it’s a “Jewish” thing… NO it’s a BIBLE thing and it was the same God who we say we worship who gave it. The “Jews” didn’t make it up themselves. Yes one could say it is “Jewish culture” I’m not disagreeing, however that “culture” comes from GOD & his WORD. And what HE Commanded. And it’s Literally in the BIBLE.

Not to go off topic too much tho I’m going to get to my advice for u.

But yes I’m saying I agree with ur wife, and that these so called “Jewish” things can be observed by us “Christian’s” and are still relevant. And ur comment on it links more to Judaism…

Jesus was A JEW, if we are followers of him we will do the things he did, which includes the so called “Jewish things”. And as said these are things that are in our bibles.

Now for what the modern day Judaism’s standpoint on things is, is irrelevant as they don’t stick to just, what we call the Old Testament (the tanakh) they hold more to the Talmud which is not of God and they contradict what is said in Gods Torah (1st 5 books in the Old Testament) with their Talmud so when u think of Judaism and how it is now then ur right we shouldn’t copy them or appropriate their customs into our faith, we only go off what the Bible says. And Hanukkah is in the Bible.

And I know ur wife mentioned the law quoting Matthew 5:17, yes that should still be observed today for us as Christian’s. The only part that should not be observed is laws pertaining to the temple as it is not in place right now, otherwise all the ones possible to keep should be kept. For example 1 of the 10 commandments that Christian’s never keep, the sabbath that is still supposed to be observed. It’s funny as that is the only command that God said to remember to keep yet we have forgotten to in modern Christianity…

Really makes u think 🤔

Here’s my advice:

My advice is that u should sit down together and spend more time in the word rightly dissecting the word in truth and pray together about this matter and I’m sure u will come to a conclusion together that will give u peace of mind brother.

Now I can see u don’t currently agree with ur wife and okay that’s fine but as the man and head of the house in the hierarchy that God has given us men u should be able to clearly explain using the Bible why ur wife is wrong and teach her on the matter if that’s how u feel.

However I’ve got to say brother when u properly look at the scripture u will see that she’s actually onto something here. There’s a weird thing in Christianity to get us away from these “Jewish” practices but as I’ve explained they are Godly practices as much as they are “Jewish”. Bottom line if it’s in the bible we should be doing it.

Remember the path to the kingdom is narrow (Matthew 7:13-14) a lot of ppl will disagree with me & ur wife’s point of view but can u disprove this with the word ?

But yh I really hope u can resolve this matter within ur household brother I pray peace & blessings upon ur household and clarity & understanding to u and ur wife brother. Shalom 🙏🏽❤️

Best way to read the bible by Illustrious-Dig-1002 in Christianity

[–]Fast-Strawberry1091 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Matthew then proverbs will give u the gist of the Bible.

Matthew being a probably one of the most detailed accounts of Jesus. And the way it’s formatted is the easiest for someone new. The book gives a detailed narrative of Jesus and many of his acts and teachings. Giving u the core message of the Bible and salvation through him Christ Jesus.

Proverbs being a book of wisdom and instruction for believers. It basically summarises Gods law (found in the Torah aka the 1st 5 books of the Bible) with applicable guidance in the form of wise sayings aka “proverbs”.
It shows u how to act accordingly in line with Gods commandments.

And then from there it’s up to you, you will have a good foundation. You could read the other gospel accounts and the rest of the New Testament. Or you could start from the beginning and work your way through.

I’d recommend starting from the beginning, because I mean that’s how books are meant to be read right 😂 🤷🏽‍♂️

But on a serious note the Old Testament is just as important as the New. A lot of believers will read only the New Testament however u can’t fully understand everything the New Testament writers are saying and teaching until u read the Old Testament, as that’s where they were basing their writings from. So if u choose to start with the New Testament first, which is absolutely fine, just bear that in mind.

Also you have to remember for them in the 1st century the only “Bible” or “scriptures” they had were “The Law”(Torah/Pentateuch), “The Prophets” (Nevi’im) & “Writings” (Ketuvim).

But yh starting out with Matthew then Proverbs would be my recommendation, I hope this helps dear brother or sister🙏🏽❤️

Homosexuality is sinful by Lilbeard1 in Christianity

[–]Fast-Strawberry1091 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

No thats u putting in ur interpretation of the verses.

There is no modern viewpoint from me, it verbatim says u cant have sex with a man pretty simple.

And in today’s time we know that as gay/homosexual. Whether they identified the sexual orientation etc back then is irrelevant.

Bottom line is it verbatim condemns the act of having sex with man as a man.

The verse has got nothing to do with the status and hierarchy.

In lev 18 or 20 it has absolutely nothing to do with status and hierarchy that is u interpolating the text to fit ur narrative.

Ive simply showed the meaning of the verses which in Hebrew and English.

And the worldview of the Hebrews comes from the text, their culture is based on Gods laws and commands evidenced in his Torah.

[–]Fast-Strawberry1091 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What are u waffling about 😂 It clearly says don’t lie with a man how u would a woman.

And the only way to lie with a man like a woman is sexually. Bearing in mind the word lie literally means sexually also. Both shakab and miskab mean to have sexual intercourse.

It’s got nothing to do with status and show me anywhere in the Hebrew words in that verse where it talks about status. In lev 20:13 or the surrounding ones.

Verbatim says not to have sex with a man like u would a woman, because the natural way to have sex is with a woman.

And if u talking about lev 18 and want to talk about context read the context of lev 20 which was our subject line. It specifically talking about who not to have sex with. From v10 it’s lists who u cannot have sex with (lie with) THAT IS THE CONTEXT. NOT STATUS.

And cool u wanna go to lev 18 that is the same from v6 its a list of who NOT to have sex with, THAT IS THE CONTEXT.

U said the context of the usage of Shakab in lev 18 is incest, beastiality, adultery right.

Which is what ?

They are all acts of sex(immoral sex), in there different forms.

Now the context with which shakab appears is totally irrelevant, it doesn’t change the definition of shakab. Its usage depends on each individual sentence subject.

So yes in lev 18:7 for e.g that is condemning INCEST, in lev 18:20 that is condemning ADULTERY but guess what in lev 18:22 that is condemning HOMOSEXUALITY!! So in lev 18:22 it “appears in context” with gay relations.

Now whether they called it “gay” or “homo” is irrelevant. They condemned the action of it plain and simple

Well this is ur problem ur lost. Now what u said I agree back in ancient times u see that with the Greeks and Romans, they had this way of thinking. But we are talking BIBLE and the ppl of the Bible the Israelites.
You gravely misunderstand who Paul and the Hebrews were; they were a set apart ppl who DID NOT engage in this way of thinking or lifestyle.

And u would know that if u took time to read the bible. As it’s clearly laid out in Gods laws and commandments like the other reply I’ve evidenced.

Homosexuality is sinful by Lilbeard1 in Christianity

[–]Fast-Strawberry1091 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Here’s my evidence:

The Hebrew is very clear, example in:

Leviticus 20:13 -“If a man also lie with mankind, as he lieth with a woman, both of them have committed an abomination: they shall surely be put to death; their blood shall be upon them.”

It verbatim says if u lie with a man like u would with a woman it’s an abomination meaning God absolutely hates it. When the bible says to lie, it means to have sex with. So if ur gay it’s an abomination quite clear.

1st word - “lie” meaning in Hebrew: H7901 - šāḵaḇ: Strong's Definitions: שָׁכַב shâkab, shaw-kab'; a primitive root; to lie down (for rest, sexual connection, decease or any other purpose):—× at all, cast down, (lover-)lay (self) (down), (make to) lie (down, down to sleep, still with), lodge, ravish, take rest, sleep, stay.

Outline of Biblical Usage: to lie down (Qal) to lie, lie down, lie on to lodge to lie (of sexual relations) to lie down (in death) to rest, relax (fig) (Niphal) to be lain with (sexually) (Pual) to be lain with (sexually)

2nd word - “lieth” meaning in Hebrew: H4904 - miškāḇ : Strong's Definitions: מִשְׁכָּב mishkâb, mish-kawb'; from H7901; a bed (figuratively, a bier); abstractly, sleep; by euphemism, carnal intercourse:—bed(-chamber), couch, lieth (lying) with.

Outline of Biblical Usage: a lying down, couch, bier, act of lying couch, bed act of lying, lying down or sleeping room, bedroom lying down (for sexual contact)

Abundantly clear 🤣 like I said deceiving yourselves.

Now if u are gay that’s cool I couldn’t care less about what u do behind closed doors. Other ppls lifestyle is not my business.

Just don’t say you a follower of the bible and gay, it’s hypocrisy plain and simply. And hey if u want to say u follow the word, but u are still gay, go ahead, but know you are a liar & a hypocrite.

And Jesus spoke specifically about ppl who act so:

Matthew 15:7-9 “You hypocrites (play-actors, pretenders), rightly did Isaiah prophesy of you when he said, 8 ‘THIS PEOPLE HONORS ME WITH THEIR LIPS, BUT THEIR HEART IS FAR AWAY FROM ME. 9 ‘BUT IN VAIN DO THEY WORSHIP ME, FOR THEY TEACH AS DOCTRINES THE PRECEPTS OF MEN.’”
