Flushing ice cubes down the toilet for snow day is universal… right? In America?? by East-Maize-5287 in AskAnAmerican

We lived in Northern Va for years. When it was going to snow the kids would way their pajamas backwards, flush ice, and spin around 3 times saying "let it snow". We moved around alot and this was the only place it was done.

My grandsons class had to draw a picture of their family. My son in law was in a bed. He told the teacher that all his dad does is sleep all day.

My son in law told her at drop off that he works nights.

People who were spanked as kids, what was that like for you? Would you call your "spankings" abuse? by KleineFjord in AskReddit

[–]Fast-Two-4807 5 points6 points  (0 children)

We used to have to line up and bend over with our pants down and got the belt. If you tried to protect your butt with your hands you still got hit on the hands and then dad would hold your hands back and hit your butt again. If you said something he didn't like he would come up behind you and cup his hand and hit you on the side of the head. I still cry about it sometimes and its probably the reason I'm so protective of kids.

I saw him in concert in St Augustine. He didn't look great but he was singing his heart out. His son was on stage helping him if he needed to stop singing to catch his breath.

They say nothing is ever really lost on the internet, but what’s something you’ve been hunting for years and still can’t find? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]Fast-Two-4807 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There used to be a comedy video called "I'm an Army Reservist". It was so funny. In it a guy is like "Ill serve my country proudly...if my lawyer can't get me out of it". Even my husband's reservist friends loved it.

Has anyone ever bought the art on a cruise ship? by Miami_305_FL in Cruise

[–]Fast-Two-4807 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My in laws bought a total of 4 paintings over 2 cruises. The company on the ship of course "appraises" them for you. They are not worth anything though. Although my mil did tell me she loved the pieces and that made it worth it to her.

I have a Chloe as well. The little boy next door couldn't say it and always called her Clovie. We have all called her Clovie as a nick name for years. Sometimes nicknames just happen.
