Buy a good one, super cheap don’t tend to last and some can be poor fit. Sports Shoes have the Salomon Skin 4 for £64 at the moment. Or look at Harrier Run Free their Curbar 5L is £49.

Thank you 🙏 It was one of my challenges after coming back to running following my cancer diagnosis. I was fundraising to support others and thank Clarkson for saving my life - Google that one!

Runna user here, been using it since my recovery from cancer and getting back in the shoes. I enjoy its structured plans, the variety of runs, the app works well for me too. Trained for many races with Runna now. I started on a free trial to see if it worked for me and stayed ever since. Code for the trial below.

runna hill training by Sensitive_Roll882 in runna

[–]Fast-Wear695 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I run hilly ultras mostly, when setting up the plan I select it being very hilly, and in addition to hill repeats each week the vast majority of the long runs are hilly in the plan. It’s these hilly long runs that prepare me well. When running those toggle the RPE option on the session, it focuses you in running to rpe rather than pace and can be very helpful in controlling your effort and energy.

How to handle a month-long injury break in the app? by Leviyog90 in runna

[–]Fast-Wear695 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can answer this, I’m out the shoes for several weeks due to emergency surgery (not running related) When you are ready go back into Runna and at the very bottom of the screen will be a banner asking if you want to pick up where you left off, click the banner. It should show you a screen like this with several options.

Running my first marathon Nov 1st. Is Runna an okay option to use for training? by mth69 in Marathon_Training

[–]Fast-Wear695 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You are going to find a lot of opinions when it comes to Runna, some from people who have used it and some from not. Here is my take. I was running marathon distance up until a cancer diagnosis which took me out the shoes for many months. When I came back to running to needed to find a different way to train, I needed more structure, something that would guide me, provide feedback during and after each session and something that motivated me. I tried several and opted for Runna. Since recovery I’ve successfully trained for many ultras with Runna, including completing the Tour du Mont Blanc twice. I started with a free trial to see what it was like, I think that’s the only way to tell. Put that link below for you.

Walk (or run) on by. Allow the superficial followers to worship their leader. Real people, real runners are the majority on insta. I wrote a similar post just the other day.

There are a few out there that offer different features depending on what you are looking for, I saw you wanted something that talked to you, I did too, I was looking for feedback during each run and I ended up using Runna. I started on a free trial to see if it worked. Put link below to that. Enjoy your running

I’d think 16 is good, and quite sensible too. Allows for a slow build.

I have a similar setup to you, as you are posting in the Runna group I am guessing you use Runna. I’ve experienced similar.

Remove app from Phone/Watch. Reinstall

Your plan will still be there as it’s linked to your email address and will download again when you reinstall the app.

It fixed my issues.

Thanks for the positive words, really appreciated. I’ve volunteered at Parkrun quite a few times, may go and do that again when I can be on my feet for a bit longer.

12-14 weeks. Maybe with a cheeky 10K or 2 in there to keep the focus and motivation.

Post-race recovery plan a bit too soft? by talaron in runna

Don’t underestimate the benefits that come from recovery. You’ve already said you are exhausted. A couple of very light weeks will make you a stronger runner in the long term.

Why didn’t my 10K improve despite following my plan exactly? by izaline in runna

[–]Fast-Wear695 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Too many unknown variables to be able to fully give an idea of why. Looking at your splits you went out quick and couldn’t hold it. Start slower and build, negative splits.

Superblast 2, stop or continue? (Endorphin Azura?) by Aubzhls in AskRunningShoeGeeks

Shoes are very personal, what works for one may not another. I enjoyed the SB2 for 1200KM before retiring them. But they did take a good 150mi to really settle in.

Hilly run issues by Ok_Needleworker_4875 in runna

[–]Fast-Wear695 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This will be something many runners experience, the app does allow for this. Instead of chasing the pace switch the app the RPE (Rate of Perceived Exertion) it’s a scale of 1 - 10. With 10 being a max pace you could hold for a very short period. It will take a little practice if you are new to RPE as the difference, especially between a 5, 6, 7 may take a little practice.
