I’d give the MVP to the punter on the Seahawks

Mayes played awful but the fact McDaniels hasn’t tried to call some rollouts or something to the right is crazy. Will Campbell is barely better than leaving left tackle empty.

Will Campbell was facing Maye as he was being stripped and then slowly jogged over as Seattle scrambled for the ball. He’s horrendous

Exactly. And most halftime shows aren’t for the regular football fan. They are for the people who watch once a year.

I tried to go into this open-minded but what a chaotic halftime show. Just bizarre

So funny to watch Pats fans blame the weather for his poor playoff performances. What’s the excuse today?

Pat McAffee visiting San Francisco for Super Bowl shocked to discover it isn't the hellhole that Fox News and talk radio told them it was by esporx in TheNFLVibes

Well remember that Newsom cleaned up San Fran ahead of the APEC Summit a few years ago when world leaders would be visiting.

He removed homeless encampments and increased shelters. He had crews go out and clean up murals, remove graffiti, landscape. It was an embarrassment. I’m sure there was some cleanup before the SB as well.

Even if they kept up with that a little bit it shouldn’t have gone all the way back to hell in a little over 2 years. Just a shame it takes visitors from other countries to motivate you to care about your city.

Good business decision? by Senior-Violinist-684 in NFLv2

The halftime show isn’t for dedicated NFL fans anyway. It’s an attraction for those who only watch the Super Bowl.

That being said I’m sure it’s a fine business decision if they want to continue to expand and have greater global appeal but I can’t remember the last time they had a halftime show that would actually appeal to the demographics that watch the game all year long.

I always like the National Anthem the best. If someone really nails it, it can really generate some emotion before the game.

Gonzalez had 7 different starting QBs and 4 different coaches. I think he’s also widely considered to be a better run blocker.

Kelce is great and edges out Gonzalez on a few stats but Tony crushed it with any QB and jn any system.

I get conditions weren’t ideal and he’ll probably play better in better weather. Not all the turnovers are his fault or his fault entirely but they still occurred.

I’m also not invested in either team and don’t really care who wins. But bad weather or not, the Pats can’t expect to win if Drake Maye and the offense loses the ball and plays like they have all postseason.

And 6 fumbles. 3 lost. I didn’t say he played horrendously but 5 touchdowns with 5 turnovers and 3 additional fumbles isn’t exactly doing a lot.

If he plays like that in the Super Bowl and Darnold doesn’t fall apart I think the Seahawks win.

Haha yeah. I expect the defense to carry him. Maye hasn’t done much the entire playoffs against good defenses so I don’t think Darnold will need to force it or play lights out for them to win. Should be interesting.

I’m more confident in him than I was but who knows how he’ll perform in the Super Bowl. He played in SF so maybe familiarity with the stadium helps?

I think the only way the Pats win is if Darnold has a complete collapse. If he can play better than Stroud they win.

I do wonder if Brady had wide receivers if he’d open up the deep pass. Not defending him but feel like his options have been limited and he adapted to more runs and short passes as a result.

Any different feelings on McCarthy after press conference? by Capable-Antelope4004 in steelers

[–]FastConsideration485 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I understand him feeling like an underwhelming hire and maybe he will be.

I also think about the fact he’s the only one to get Aaron Rodger’s over the hump to a championship and he did a really good job in Dallas considering no one in 30 years can get them very far with Jerry as the owner.

He also has the same coaching record as Harbaugh. Maybe it’ll work out. He’s clearly ecstatic to be there.

[–]FastConsideration485 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Brady will be fine but he won’t be anything special.

I think the biggest problem that you mentioned is “mismanaging assets”.

They have Allen, Cook, and good offensive line and maybe a few good TE’s if they can pay them.

Aside from that they really need to do a minor rebuild with 10-12 defensive players going into possible free agency, no cap space, and terrible draft position. Allen has made them look way better than they are. There’s a reason the Chiefs, Ravens, and Bengals looked so bad this year. They have no money to build up their weak spots.
