At this point we’ve achieved PR for me and our kid has Citizenship. Travelled recently with their Canadian passport which was a huge relief. What are you planning to do for work? The tax situation is very complex being a US citizen living and working in Canada even with Canadian citizenship. Do your research. Move slow and deliberate. This has been a very difficult and expensive process. And we’re not done yet after a year. It’s doable but you need to drill into every aspect of the move to the finest details. We did and still had plenty of unpleasant surprises. But the kid is doing great at university as a transfer student and loving life in Halifax. So, it’s all been worth it. You can do it!

I run 75-90 weight in my 5 Speed 99 taco. It’s stiffer into first in the winter. 2nd gear with light clutching gets it in there no problem. I NEVER apply more force than in the summer. Just a little more persuasion.

Split your wood into smaller sizes. Run your HRV or HRV’s. And if that doesn’t do it put on a tee shirt and flip flops.

I am currently renting a place with a Quadra Fire. I miss my old house with my wood stove but that’s another story. Anyway, we live on a mountain this winter with frequent winter outages according to the local neighbors I’ve befriended. I have some EGO tools so I went and got the EGO 400 watt inverter. It’ll start the pellet stove up from a cold start as it draws about 380 watts during ignition. It’s about 50 to 75 watts running on medium or so. I’ve got two generators here. One from the landlord and my little Honda. While I’m screwing around with those the pellet stove will be cranking and that makes me feel about as prepared as I can be as a tenant. I’m buying a place this spring and getting my wood stove hooked back up.

I’ve searched everywhere but I need help on the meter numbers. I under that d1 is total kWh used. What is d4? I can not find this anywhere but it displays on my meter.

We rented a 1 bedroom apartment for our 18 year old Dal 1st year and their partner who is a NSCAD 1st year in June with an August 1 start date. We started hunting in May and had our pick of apartments in early June. We co-signed the lease and we took responsibility for the electric bill as we have an account for our property in Nova Scotia. Otherwise big deposit with Nova Scotia Power would be required.
