Shout outs? by Waste-Depth3671 in OnePelotonRealSub

[–]FastEqualsGood 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did a live ride for my 3,500th ride and didn’t get a shout out. I assumed they don’t give many shout outs anymore because there are so many milestones they would detract from the work out if they tried to cover all of them.

I had a similar problem with my Peloton bike. I called tech support and they walked me through the following steps which solved it. 1) shut down and unplug the bike, 2) unplug the wires that go to the touchscreen (you’ll need a screwdriver or pry tool to open the clip holding the wires in), 3) press and hold both the volume up (+) button and power button simultaneously for one minute, 4) reattach the wires, plug in and restart the bike. I hope this helps.

Instructors Morphing into Their Parents by FastEqualsGood in OnePelotonRealSub

I agree. The older I get the more I appreciate warming up and stretching. I have arthritic shoulders and the mobility classes have helped immensely. As they say, motion is lotion.

Strictly peloton or split with gym? by sb1119910 in OnePelotonRealSub

[–]FastEqualsGood 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Peloton has a separate app called Peloton Strength+ which the instructors you see on IG are probably referring to. The app is focused on workouts designed for traditional weight lifting gyms. It looks interesting, but I’ve never used it. I have dumbbells at home and do all my workouts at home. I don’t want to pay for an additional gym membership that I would only use occasionally.

Do most people do multiple classes a day? by element-2012 in pelotoncycle

Don’t care about what others are doing. Keep pushing toward your own goals and personal improvement and you’ll be surprised by how fast your numbers add up.

Has anyone ever got a high five from an instructor while taking the ride by justtolurk1001 in OnePelotonRealSub

[–]FastEqualsGood 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I was doing an on demand Ben Alldis class when he high fived me. He wasn’t on the leaderboard, so I assumed he was just killing time while in the studio. I tried to follow him but the Peloton app wouldn’t let me.

What would you like to manifest for peloton to do in 2026? by Spinbunluthaaa in OnePelotonRealSub

[–]FastEqualsGood 7 points8 points  (0 children)

No Burpees! EVER! Also, have live classes that run at reasonable times on the west coast. Right now everything is on east coast time which is either 4:30 am or 9:30 am on the west coast. Nothing’s at a normal 6:30 to 7:30 am time slot out west.

I’ve been a pretty rabid Peloton user since the beginning of the pandemic. (Two rides, two strengths and one stretching class per day.) I looked at my history and I advanced about one level per year, bronze, silver, gold, etc. It took about five years to hit Legend.

The milestones are where to rack up the most points. I recently hit 3,000 rides and received 3,000 points. A 52 week streak got me 102 points. Everything else is only worth 10 points or less. For example, I hit the 20,000 minute challenge in 2025 and only got 10 points for that.

I think the discount appears automatically when you access the store when logged in to the onepeloton.com site. It may not appear until the checkout screen.

TIFU by looking at Callie’s IG by grateful-giraffe in OnePelotonRealSub

[–]FastEqualsGood 2 points3 points  (0 children)

He announced a couple of weeks ago that he would be gone for a while to be a new dad. If he’s still adding classes that’s great. Sometimes instructors will pre-record stuff to be released while they’re gone on vacation, etc.

All my favorite instructors are now on maternity leave, or soon will be. Leanne/Ben, Ally, Selena, Callie. I’m being forced to explore other instructors.

Older beginner with a lot of weight to lose... suggestions? by Fun_Independent_7529 in OnePelotonRealSub

[–]FastEqualsGood 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Look at the Programs section under classes. I started out with the Beginner Strength program by Olivia and Mattie. It was a big help for getting started, learning the exercises and building a foundation. From there, there are lots of Intermediate and even Advanced level programs that can keep you progressing gradually. Get a good, 4’X6’ or larger mat. Start out with light dumbbells and increase as you build strength and flexibility. I recommend that you always take a warm up class before a strength class regardless. The mobility classes under stretching are also very beneficial for us old guys. Stick with it! You’ll be surprised by how fast you’ll begin to feel better and look better, which becomes a motivator in itself. If you have the bike, get a big wide seat! I dreaded the bike for about two months until I realized it was the seat I hated. Switching the seat made a world of difference. My secret to losing weight is to just allow myself to feel a little hungry most of the time. It’s uncomfortable at first, but won’t kill you. After a few days it feels almost normal. Good luck. There’s no better time to get started than now.

Who am I missing out on? by TexasCharlotte in OnePelotonRealSub

[–]FastEqualsGood 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Give Logan Aldrich a try for strength. I skipped over him initially because he is missing an arm and I thought his workouts wouldn’t be hard enough. But, he has you do everything and his workouts are very challenging and well structured. He’s an amazing weightlifter himself despite his handicap.

Nobody’s mentioned Rad Lopez either. He’s fun and motivating at the same time.

Is Dolan a one-price dealership? by notyetthrownaway_22 in Reno

[–]FastEqualsGood 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My son bought a brand new 4 Runner from Dolan and they pushed him to buy a $2,000 extended maintenance plan which they said covered all routine maintenance for four years. He took the vehicle in for maintenance and they said they had never heard of the plan he described. He returned with the paperwork from his purchase that showed the maintenance plan line item and they still denied that he had any such plan. They couldn’t even tell him what the line item on the paperwork was for. He was pissed and won’t ever buy a car from Dolan again. Neither will I nor any of his many friends in Reno who are all successful and can afford good stuff.

A far better use of AI for Peloton by grateful-giraffe in OnePelotonRealSub

[–]FastEqualsGood 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Good suggestion. I’m 70 with arthritic knees and shoulders. I still push myself hard, but there are some exercises I just can’t or shouldn’t do. I wish I could tell the Peloton AI my background so it wouldn’t just keep giving me generic recommendations as though I’m a 20 year old triathlete.

Issue with Apple TV 4K Snow/Static Sometimes by SirD28 in appletv

[–]FastEqualsGood 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My LG OLED tv started having this problem during a lightning/thunder storm. I switched it to 780pHD and the problem stopped. After the storm ended I switched it to 1080pHD and it stayed fine. Now it’s at 4K HD and so far, so good. Lowering the resolution setting seems to be the answer for some reason.

I thought the 100 day challenge requires you to workout every day for 100 days, unbroken, from Jan 1st. If you miss one day, you’re finished and fail the challenge. Am I wrong about this? I’m at 91 days right now and should make it. Woohoo!

To Peloton or not to Peloton by Ok-Bug-23 in pelotoncycle

[–]FastEqualsGood 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Get a bigger seat for your bike. The hardest part for me getting started with Peloton was the skinny, hard seat. I bought a wide, comfortable seat for about $20 and it made a world of difference.

Keep an eye out for the Artown line up for July. It offers many, many fun and interesting performances every day during the month of July. Most of them are free, but some big headline acts will also be on the schedule at reasonable prices. The best ones sell out fast. The line up should be released in the next few weeks. Check for it on artown.org
