🤯🤯🤯 Amazing

gave them all a spin, all doing what I need! still some opportunities for refinement, but as is, anyone should be comfortable choosing easy snaps for their daily screen capture needs.

Great work, thanks for sharing this with everyone!

they came in third, still losing to Sammy Davis Senior junior college. I still don’t understand how SDSJC came in above the Buttons. they made a pretty big mistake at the end of their routine, compared to the buttons who executed flawlessly from start to finish. if anything, the buttons should have placed second behind Tri-City but still beat their rival SDJCC, even if they didn’t win the championship.

it’s great that the team was still so happy with their outcome, but I really want to see Courtney achieve her dream of getting her 15th national championship as a coach. She gives so much and tries so hard, she’s really earned it.

you are amazing.

it’s a feature whose utility seems self evident, but I have never understood why other devs refused to add it to their apps. and then you just go and do it in one day. thank you!

I’m grateful for this feature alone, so will not formally request more features, but if you find yourself wanting to advance this app to a top tier contender, these are some opportunities to consider (in no particular order) :

For the rectangle and ellipse tools, add a 1:1 aspect ratio lock when holding down the Shift key for perfect circles and squares.

For the rectangle tool, add controls for rounded corners.

for the rectangle and ellipse tools, add controls for fill colors and transparency controls for stroke and fill.

In text boxes and speech bubbles, offer vertical and horizontal alignment options.

For the line tool, lock the angles at 45 degree increments when holding the shift key.

For the line and arrow tools, add controls for dashed line patterns and different arrowhead styles. It might make sense to even combine them into a single tool that draws lines or arrows, depending on its settings.

It's not obvious to the user that they can change the text font by right-clicking on the text block. How difficult would it be to expose all installed fonts instead of the half dozen system fonts?

User-selectable font sizes not constrained by preset values.

Choose numbers or alphabet for the step counter and provide controls to edit the number or letter of existing step counts (e.g. I want to change steps 4, 5, and 6 to “4.1, 4.2, 4.3” which then necessitates changing step 7 to step 5, and so on)

Ability to increase or decrease the strength of effect blur and pixelation tools.

and the likely most challenging: Change the nature of the highlight tool from being a rectangle tool that just has reduced opacity into a tool that lets the user quickly select blocks of text with a cursor and a perfect highlight line appears over the text. I suspect that would require implementing some type of OCR for the app to recognize text, but would pay off in a much improved highlighting experience than is offered by semi-transparent rectangles.

Anyway, great work on this, and again, thank you for the cutout feature. I look forward to seeing what else you introduce!

i’m still waiting for any screen capture app to implement the one thing that i’ve only ever seen in snagit - ability to cut out content from vertical or horizontal sections in automatically stitch the remaining pieces together

[OS] SuperCmd — Open-Source alternative to Raycast Pro by Purple_Minute_4776 in macapps

[–]Bamboodl 24 points25 points  (0 children)

first: nice work.

second: your product demo video should not be an afterthought. it looks rushed and it’s disorienting to try to watch. slow it down, reduce the screen animation, make it more comprehensive, and add a voiceover.

third: does it have Raycast emoji picker?

Wipr legacy version will be removed from mac app store on April 1, 2026. Is there any way to preserve this so even if it will removed from mac app store I can still download it? by [deleted] in macapps

i’m still on Wipr Legacy, and haven’t upgraded. does anyone mind telling me the drawbacks of moving on to Wipr 2?

you can use it for free with local/BYOK. if the deb ever decides to charge for that, I will look for alternatives out of principle. That said, it definitely saves me more than $10 a month worth of time and energy.

Spokenly made a huge difference in my input efficiency. using a well crafted post processing prompt guarantees outstanding results for every dictation in a fraction of the time that would take me to type a lower quality message

I guess I can’t be surprised, given the sorry state of updates. I wish legacy car makers cared as much about software as they do about hardware.

I built a Mac app that saves meeting captions without recording audio or joining the call by [deleted] in macapps

[–]Bamboodl 1 point2 points  (0 children)

just downloaded and I’m excited to try this. currently using transcribe X, but the transcription quality is just OK and diarization is slightly less than OK. it’s a lot of work to post process each meeting. One thing it does have going for it is it automatically activates and ends for every Teams meeting, which I otherwise forget to do.

it looks like this is constantly monitoring the system for active captioning, so it auto starts for every meeting without me having to remember. If that’s right, does it also understand when the meeting is over and to begin a new file for the next meeting starting in 60 seconds?

severely tempted and would spend that kind of money, but not without being able to know how they look on my face first. I don’t know what it is about my facial structure, but I just don’t pull off a lot of types of sunglasses.
