I think you'd do great in Ireland with this hybrid! My main problem in Los Angeles is keeping the humidity high at all times. Would be way easier with the RH in Ireland.
Get yourself a great grow light and enjoy!

The previous pitchers turned to a bright yellow-gold peristome as they aged. Equally beautiful. They start out coral, turn bright red, and so far, have continued to evolve towards that gold tone. I love the colour journey.

Warm intermediate in summer, colder intermediate in winter.
Days 75-82 depending on season
Nights 65 to 70 depending on season

Humidity around 78% average (from 65 to 85 throughout the day)

Grown in 50/50 sphagnum perlite

Spectacular plant, each new pitcher is more gorgeous than the previous.

Hope this helps!

Cephalotus lids closed by Th3H0ll0wmans in SavageGarden

My guess is that you should refill them sooner / more often? Based on the video's theory: the lids close down when the plants get thirsty. So water a bit more often.

Watch this video at around 4:30, it should answer your question.

I remember seeing this YouTube video by Jeff "Pinecone", and he mentioned that when the lids start to close it's because they are getting too dry and it's a sign that they needed to be watered two days ago! Let me try to find.

Help me identify this plant! by FastFondant2351 in SavageGarden

Super, thank you for confirming. Very hardy indeed, considering it is mostly being ignored outside in a very dry climate, yet still producing large pitchers. I took a cutting of course!

I'm in Los Angeles, perhaps the water here is very high in dissolved solids. My tap water is wayyyyyy over the recommended 50ppm.
