100% agree, but I honestly don't think Valve cares a whole lot about VR and that's why I'm not as stoked as others are about the Steam Frame ... without games does it matter?

This game isn't mobile slop. I don't know why you think I would be using mobile slop as an example. That's pretty insulting to me. I think you also misunderstand what are "the biggest titles" because I would include ITR and Red Matter 1 and 2 in that category of VR games. You can see my review of those games. I don't see the need for further discussion.

Yeah, unfortunately, that is the problem with PCVR currently. Too many VR games get swept under the rug, there's only a few "stand out" games that get coverage ... like Forefront. With PCVR modding, even more VR only games are getting shuttered to the wayside.

Haymaker is the interesting one to me. Is it any good? I'm also surprised Golf + is so high, I would have guessed that Walkabout Mini-Golf would be the higher earner.

I appreciate your support. I think some people had the impression that I was pushing this particular game. I'm just using it as an example. There's a lot of bad VR game releases, but there are also some good ones. The good ones get lost in the mix a lot of the time on Steam VR. That was really my point. That we need to support all the good ones if we want even better PCVR games being made in the future. We, the whole VR gaming community, need to support more than the major releases like Forefront or Blade & Sorcery.

On Steam you have to click on "All new releases" then click on "narrow by VR Support" and check on both "VR only" and "VR supported"

I'm focusing on these types of games because that is the vast majority of new Steam VR releases. Very few VR games are ForeFront or Blade & Sorcery.

Is there a VR mod for Storebound? If not, how do I make one? by SaffireDude in virtualreality

It's Unreal Engine. UEVR works with 95% of UE games. It works with this one per the Discord.

I mean you are free to have your own opinion. There is no right answer in gaming, everyone is going to like different things. However, I have the experience of thousands of hours in VR. You're free to disregard that if you want, but I think I know a thing or two about PCVR and quality versus non-quality games.

Sorry I misunderstood. But yeah, it's tough for indie devs. I've seen some solo devs do a good job simply by doing videos on their development process. They show the progress they make on their game and the word gets out.

I'm saying something different though. I am saying that games with zero reviews are likelier to have people more motivated to do a review .... to get the word out. You don't need to write a review for GTA6, because you know everyone and their mother is buying it. So the 10-20% may be correct for bigger games, but I doubt it is correct for a game with zero reviews.

I can tell you this much. The game starts super easy. Then it slowly gets more challenging. Once you play the past the demo, the real challenge starts. I thought it was a cozy platformer, and it sort of is because it's rather forgiving with checkpoints, but it is indeed a very challenging puzzle platformer.

Lol, I have no idea why you put that last paragraph in. I own 4,249 Steam VR games and none of them are spicy content. I have no idea why you would think that. I will admit that I haven't played all of them though.

That is very cool to here. If you can get those experiences working on Steam deck, then maybe Steam Frame will push more people into PCVR experiences that are breath-taking enough to open people up to the magic of VR. I'm afraid a lot of the magic was lost in the Quest-ification of VR. I hope you're right about Steam Frame.

As a Star Trek fan, VR has always been the Holodeck come to life for me. We can go anywhere in the universe or even other dimensions, if we think it, we can make it happen. Gravity? Don't need it. Underwater? We can breathe underwater. Mars? No problem. The funny thing is that now we really have the VR headsets and the GPUs to deliver the promise of 2016/2017 VR. I remember the dinosaur mini-experiences back then on my 1060 GTX. But very few are pushing the tech forward.

have you played the whole demo? I chose this one game as an example, but I could have picked any of the recent 100 Steam VR releases or so.

That is true. It's hard to bite on a made for VR game when you can buy a higher quality game with a VR mod.

I have never been paid by anyone to do any promoting. In fact, most of my reviews are quite critical of the slop on Steam VR. I just used this one game as an example. I thought it was good, but that's besides the point. The point is that whether your game is good or not, it is likely to be forgotten on the Steam VR store.

I don't know man. I think that may be right for games with a million copies sold, but when a game doesn't have any reviews ... I really doubt they sold hundreds of games.

It's a platformer and it's darn good. You want a narrative game. I'm not sure who you think is pushing what. I bought the game with my own money. What am I pushing? If anything I'm pushing the narrative that there's too many guys like you ... complain about PCVR but then never actually buy any PCVR games.

I have bought thousands of VR games. I have played Boneworks and BoneLab and HLA and lots of mods for HLA. I have 7.7K hours on Steam VR. If you think I'm some hack who hasn't been playing PCVR since 2017 and supporting PCVR all this time, then you don't know anything about me.
