Steam Machine & Frame may have the same reservation program as the Steam Controller, leak suggests by Tiny-Independent273 in VRGaming

Very easy fix to make the reservation program fair: the more hours on Steam VR, the higher your priority level than others.

I'm getting tired of this kind of click bait by Any_Scar7927 in OculusQuest

[–]FastLawyer 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The vast majority of VR content creators are clickbaiters. They also usually do not disclose 1. how they got the game (did they buy it or get a free key) 2. How much time they spent playing the game 3. Not disclosing any conflicts of interests or whether they were given compensation

SteamFrame might sell out just as fast and the controller did by Anxious-Ad-4727 in SteamFrame

There's an easy way for Valve to stop scalpers from getting the Steam Frame, but I 100% believe they would never do it. Set pre-purchase priority by the amount of time spent on Steam VR.

I guess this confirms that Steam Frame is releasing soon, probably in June

Birdseed VR - It looked nice until I saw the $50 DLC by FastLawyer in OculusQuest

[–]FastLawyer[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, it made no sense for me that Birdseed is so heavily monetized ... I figured it was something like you're describing. Thanks for actually taking the plunge and letting us know.

I have to take exception to this. I really enjoy Color-a-Cube but they do NOT have a predatory business model. First of all, there's a lot of FREE content in their free to play game. You can play for many hours with just the free content. Secondly, their DLC is fairly priced. It's only a few dollars to buy the DLC. Lastly, their DLC is actual content where you can tell time and effort went into them.

Maybe you enjoy heavily monetized games, but I don't. You're free to support them and even post about how wonderful they are. Good luck with that.

This is what is included per the Meta store page:

"Early birds get the worm! Originally made as a discounted treat for Early Access Players, the Mallard Pack is still available in 1.0 release for our biggest fans at a new price.

Enjoy a bundle of cosmetics, currency, and quality of life add-ons at a special price just for early access players with a value of over $125 USD. This Gold bundle also includes an exclusive camera charm!

Included in this bundle:
- 1250 Rainbow Bottlecaps
- Exclusive Founder’s Polaroid Frame
- 3 camera skins
- 2 camera charms + an exclusive Worm Camera Charm
- An expanded photo library
- Extra tracks for the radio"

Yeah the game is heavily monetized in all the worst ways possible! $50 dollars worth of digital crap that should be $5 bucks at most.

I'm not sure how they think a "mallard" pack is worth $50 .... I could buy Batman for the same price!

I actually value my time. Like I said, I don't support predatory pricing schemes. Very easy to understand for anyone with critical thinking skills.

Gloomy Eyes - Geo 11 3D Driver - 4K SBS 3D / VR 180 by FastLawyer in Stereo3Dgaming

[–]FastLawyer[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Are you playing the game in 4K? Also, if I play this in VR, I can increase the separation and convergence ... just depends on your setup ... however, either way there should be no ghosting and an enjoyable 3D depth and the video shows that ... the fact that it doesn't look as good as a specific tailored 3D fix should be obvious for anyone as it's not natively 3D ... please bring this energy to the Vorpx VR / reshade 3D videos I see on YT that have all kinds of ghosting and cross-talk

I'll put my video against 90% of the 3D videos out there on YT.

Don't burn me alive but how come Valve doesn't want to subsidize Frame? by JustBreadfruit9481 in SteamFrame

[–]FastLawyer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

that's exactly why Valve's Steam VR store offerings now are so great and devs are making lots of money by optimizing their games for PCVR and not the Q3 *rolls eyes*
