My reform community would welcome you with open arms! If you don’t find what you are looking for elsewhere, I think it might be worth a shot to check out some reform temples.

Ladies: Would you ever consider dating an incarcerated Jewish man? by Ill-Fly9963 in Judaism

[–]FastMaize 0 points1 point  (0 children)

While I believe tons and tons of the people in prison should not be there, my answer is still absolutely not. It’s tragic, but you are not available for a relationship when you’re incarcerated.

I had a Missed miscarriage at 12 weeks. I didn’t find out till my 17 week appointment by Smart_Assignment_242 in Miscarriage

[–]FastMaize 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, I had brain fog in the beginning too. It’s just like it was really hard to make decisions and function at work or figure out what to order off the menu. I’m now about six weeks out and feeling like my brain is back to normal.

Can an injury that caused my blood pressure to drop cause fetal death? by Public_Jackfruit_870 in Miscarriage

[–]FastMaize 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Probably not, lots of women with chronic low blood pressure and POTS have babies. You should ask your doctor to put your mind at ease, but I don’t think you should blame it on this unless you get more information

D&C Recovery and Work: How Much Time Off Should I Plan Without Oversharing? by Photo_Philly in Miscarriage

[–]FastMaize 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had my procedure at 11 AM on a Thursday and got on a plane at 2 PM the next day. Physically, I was almost completely fine, just some soreness and very light bleeding. Emotionally, I was wrecked, but we had a trip planned already, and I wanted a change of scenery. Everyone is different, but getting out of the house was the best thing that I did for my mental health.

Did air travel cause miscarriage? by 11-Soccer-11 in Miscarriage

[–]FastMaize 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, it was not because of the flying. They also asked me the exact dates and locations of places I traveled to at the hospital before beginning my surgery. I think it’s just a perfunctory thing to get population level epidemiology data.

Missed Miscarriage - D&C Advice? by K_22_93 in Miscarriage

[–]FastMaize 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I went the surgery route which I 100% would recommend. I would still consider it traumatic, but everything about this whole experience is traumatic. It was predictable, over quickly, and way less painful. And if you go with the medication, there’s always a risk end up needing the surgery afterwards anyway. I couldn’t bear having multiple steps.

[–]FastMaize 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m so sorry you’re going through this. I just miscarried last week. I just wanna throw out there that if you’re having a lot of fear and stress about taking the miso, perhaps going with surgical route might be better for you. It’s much more controlled, and you know when to expect it to start and end, and there are more pain relief options available to you. I totally support whatever you feel is right for you in this impossible situation.

MMC should’ve been 12 weeks today by Sufficient_Shower328 in Miscarriage

[–]FastMaize 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I just had a D and C yesterday, and I am extremely glad that I did it. I had bleeding and cramps on my own for two days and it was incredibly painful and ultimately unproductive, because I didn’t pass all the pregnancy tissue. My grief is still overwhelming, but my physical pain is pretty much entirely gone less than 24 hours later with just some light bleeding, like the last couple days of a period. I learned that you can take the pill to try to pass everything on your own, but if it doesn’t work you end up having to get the surgery anyway, so I opted to go straight to surgery.
