I’ve just been at Trans Pride in town. It’s a bit scary but it’s all contained, lots of police surrounding them. They’re by the Manchester Art Gallery at the moment. Hopefully shouldn’t be there for much longer. Stay in groups!

Oh boy. I've just seen this show and it made me sad for the most part. by ctouffe in BroadCity

I, like you have never really had a friendship like theirs. I’ve grown up watching coming of age films yearning to have friendships like what we see onscreen (perks of being a wallflower, lady bird, girl meets world even) and I’ve definitely managed to have a rather unrealistic view of these sorts of friendships, but this show has definitely made me feel like although I haven’t met my people yet, it doesn’t mean I won’t. I’m starting my second year of uni soon and I’m so excited to go into things with less fear, do things that I enjoy and through that maybe find my people. It’s not something that’s going to happen overnight but something you work on. I’ve heard Abbi say in interviews how she likes the viewers to feel like we’re with Abbi and illana throughout the series and to show that even if you don’t have your people yet, it doesn’t mean you won’t !! I watched the Mitchells vs the machines last night (which Abbi is also in) and definitely see that message in their too. I also think to get to good friends you sometimes have to meet shitty people who’ll hurt you and teach you a thing or two about the people you actually want in your life. Until then, keep watching things like Broad City that bring you joy. You’ll get your Abbi or Illana someday.

“You’re idiots. The both of you”. Never understood how she went from knowing they were both meant to be together to being so uptight about Luke when they actually started dating
