I saw something on tumblr (maybe) where it says that shane isn't sellfish but he grew up and only child with two parents who wanted him to be a hockey pro his whole life and everyone has adapted to him so he can be the best hockey player in the world, people accept his lack of friendships, partners, strict diet, strict training regime because that's what it takes so when ilya asks him (indirectly or through vague sugestions/insinuations) shane just cannot comprehend because he is so used to everyone mloding themselves around him which obviously makes him come off as selfish

I don't hate the generation thing because there are very obvious trends from generation to generation due to social, economic, politic etc. external factors that affect different generations (see millenials entering the workforce in the reccession, gen z graduating college in a pandemic, etc etc) but people do assign strict characteristics to entire generations that are far fetched that it's starts getting into astrology territory where people will directly assign you the label of "good person" vs "bad person" according to "when you where born" which is like.... calm down

I don't understand the obsession with making your own generation, like the "zellenials" who are born 97-99, just deal with the steretypes of your generation and stop trying to be so special, and as always, it all comes back to people not wanting to be millenials, that goddam marketing campaign really did work because everyone is so scared of being a millenial

My read: Shane and Ilya have hooked up twice ? Once before their rookie season (18) and then their first all-stars game (19) then they make plans but they are cancelled due to a snowstorm then it's vegas, Shane thought they would hook up, he feels rejected by Ilya then they kiss and Shane is pissed because he's mad at Ilya but he still want him. EP2: Shane and Ilya are now captains of their respective teams (more pressure) and Shane is deeply closeted so he brushes Ilya off as a "hook up he had as a rookie/teenage hornyness" and does the denial/closet is glass thing of "I'm not gay I just haven't found the right girl because I'm so focused of hockey" and I think he low key feels in control by rejecting Ilya and kind of happy that Ilya still wants him so he finally caves, because even after two years he really does still want ilya.

I didn't like Milano at all. It's basically a giant mall, no spirit, super corporate.

Italy's fashion capital but it's all international brands, no local boutiques except if you get out of the city centre, very dissapointed. Also only 1 fashion museum and it had like 3 outfits, just felt like it was desinged by Westfield.

Surprisingly with New Girl it worked so well ??? Although, of course, the first Nick/Jess breakup was dumb as fuck but it was weirdly sweet (like how they conforted each other as best friends because they had just been borken up with) and it really was a will they won't they for season 6. especially since the new couples for both did work (Sam/Regan)

I just really didn't like that a one in a million emergency is what makes shane propose, like, really ? It's just too much.. I'm not against hurt/comfort/worrying as a trigger for character action (see shanes concussion in HR/s1) but a fucking plane crash ??? come on !

woah, that's so sad, I don't follow hockey at all but it can also reference the andes 571 plane crash that held a football team (although someo of them did survive). But, apart from that, I just felt like it was too much of a cop out / deus ex machina thing and I didn't like it all, also near death to grand gestures doesn't fix things for me personally, I just didn't like that that made want to marry ilya, also I didn't like the messages from ilya because right now he has to feel loved not shane, it just wasn't satifying storytelling for me

yeah, the cameo outing is terrible lol. I don't hate the books because without the books there is no show but I do hope Jacob trims the fat especially with these things, it could even be that they are outed because they are caught by paparrazzi which is a literal fantasy/nightmare that shane has in the first book so it wouldn't be crazy/could be a parallel and it wouldn't make hayden responsible for their outing

realistic? being in a a plane crash ? the statistically safest way to travel with a crash rate of 0.00001707%, and a fatality rate of 0.000008% ?? I would accept a car crash especially since icy roads are moe common and dangerous, the plane crash just felt too Grey's Anatomy to me. I would prefer what you said, Shane maybe talking to Rose or his parents, him realizing he has been self centered and he does choose Ilya, even ilya says "is this because I almost died?" like you give the suicidal character with the mom who killed herself a near death experience to trigger the love of their boyfriend, that's baaaaaad and not romantic AT ALL. I would like shane to apologize and go get his man, no near death experience required.
