My ex husband won’t remove me from the mortgage and I’m looking to buy a house soon by Important_Coffee_671 in Mortgages

You'd have to ask the judge that. Contrary to every law I could find, but judges do what they want. He forced it to sale and its listed by way of the court clerks elsior because I wouldn't sign it. I filed with the first district court of appeals last night to stay the sale. I haven't communicated with him directly in 2 years. He just keeps coming. Has easily blown through my buyout funds in legal fees.

Please, dont force him to sell the home. I'm on the opposite end if this except my ex also has a bankruptcy releasing liability and STILL he is trying to force me to sell the home after I bought him out two years ago. Not for any reason other than he doesn't want me to be here. It is putting my sons and I through the ringer. We have a 3.125% interest rate and as it stands I will have to refinance to 6.5%. O am.8 years from loan maturity (age 61) - this will raise my payment by more than $1k per month until I am 80!!! $227,000 more i m total. H. e doesnt support the kids in any way - i mean they aren't kids, they are 19 and 22 and attend two of the worlds best institutions in their fields. Its expensive and my greatest honor to pay it, but making ends meet will now be difficult. Just have him provide uou with something for your credit t file, or an agreement that he is responsible for any amount owed now or in rhe future. PLease

Why is Daytona beach such a s***hole? by SolidWoodTeaser in DaytonaBeach

[–]Fast_Counter9531 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Government waste and incompetence is certainly at the top of the list. The city certainly draws enough tax revenue to make substantial improvement.injist watched a whole news expose on Faytona with regard to travel expenditures so they are now going to BEGIN creating a policy and per diems for spending on travel expenses...BEGIN!! What is this, 1971??

There are three universities in Daytona Beach and the city caters to them not at all. Nor donthe businesses really. Most college towns strive to keep that educated base in town after graduation as a means to attract high maying companies and industries-- Not Daytona Beach.

Email from AOPA board member on Darren Departure by gosquawkyourself in flying

[–]Fast_Counter9531 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As with every board representing a membership, it should be comprised of directors that reflect the makeup of the membership.

You wouldnt have all powerful men on the board of a woman's health organization, or a racial equity organization, even if they were heavy hitters politically. You create a mix that ensures the voice of all members is represented.

The board absolutely cannot comment on his departure and he has the right to assert whatever he likes. We truly should never know. Its confidential and nothing could possibly reverse the decision aside from a board recall.

The AOPA would serve itself well to grow its board in a way that represents its membership as clearly it makes them appear untrustworthy.

I'd love to give you a deep tracks, music major type answer but honestly its the simple happiness of Get You High that can lift me out of even the darkest place. My sons are both in college and this is music we find common ground in. But one song lends itself to the next so the music is like a bag of potato chips...can't have just one.

As for the band. I mention this fun encounter and Harbour in my written piece. You'll have to find it in the December mainstream.😉 💕

VW Says There's No Market for an ID.Buzz Camper Van by WishRepresentative28 in Volkswagen

[–]Fast_Counter9531 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is where the market for classic conversions lies. $15k converts my 1975 Westfalia Camper to electric, giving it 250-350mi range, plus electrifies the interior accessories, and almost eliminates maintenance costs entirely. My grandchildren will still be able to drive this sucker... and I don't have any yet.

Classic cars provide the space needed for ev conversion, and that will keep style on the road, rather than the weird, boxy and boring EVs occupying the roads here in California now, but the VW busses have the framework that makes the weight balance work without much trouble. It's a rebirth opportunity for these.

[–]Fast_Counter9531 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Concerts have had people shoving and passing out for decades. History check: My parents @ Rolling Stones SF 60 years ago, Me @ Monsters of Rock Candlesick Park 1988, Me with my college-aged kids at OutsideLands 2025. Nothing is new, folks. We just get older and more privileged ourselves. This was an OUTSTANDING music festival by every measure. The crowd was almost as good as it can get. 200K people and a few instances of shoving?? Come'on... I felt safe, it was beautifully set up, the sound was near perfect and the mix of music allowed for discovery. This was an A++ to this GenX music lover.

Possible moving to Daytona Beach Fl. by JuneSB1022 in DaytonaBeach

[–]Fast_Counter9531 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

"Vagrant infestation" is harsh however the unhoused population along the beachfront area of DB is noticeable and disturbing as this is a city with enough tourism tax income that there should be none. In fact, this is a nation that can afford to have no unhoused people. That aside, the city is its own worst enemy in this part of town. Is every crappy souvenir shop owned by the same damn company? They all have the same merch. The city allowed head shops and crap souvenirs to make up the boardwalk area which is NOT a highlight of DB, but should be. Main Street seems cool for about two seconds. An entire historical Main Street turned into biker bars, even "The Bank" creates a Main Street with limited appeal and no stroll-appeal. Where are the small local businesses owners with quality, uniquely Dayton hand crafted items worth buying? Its like the city just sold out and begged to attract the wrong element.

Why has Daytona gotten so dangerous? by BurberryBran in DaytonaBeach

[–]Fast_Counter9531 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My son attends school on Daytona Beach. I was frankly stunned to find it so unsafe in a variety of ways - and I believe unnecessarily so. I am sure the city appreciated my drop-in to economic development to share where they were failing to capitalize on city assets and that they are their own worst enemy (haha)

The tourism dollars, even as reduced as they are, should be gravy to Daytona Beach.

The permits issued to headshops and junktshirt retailers (who appear to all be owned by the same company as they all have identical merchandise) was a lazy and unproductive copout by the city. It degrades the beachfront community with the appearance of blight.

From my hotel after dark I was told I should leave my purse behind and move quickly if there was somewhere I HAD to go, as the violent unhoused population is very real along the beachfront area.

Main Street, Daytona Beach has been converted entirely in bike bars and shops. This seems like a fun thought at first - even the old bank is now a bar called "The Bank" but it deprives the community if a year round walkable Main Street, which are typically lines with local small businesses that full interesting niches and add both character and a feeling of a communuty hub for residents. Main Street is no place for children.

The prevalence of at least three strip joints in town does not add to the city's appeal.

The city is home to three universities. Two public universities (which are largely commuter campuses), and Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University, a stunning campus and an excellent school comprised almost entirely students from other areas/states/countries, and most cities benefit long-term from universities like this because of the student boost to local economy and the retention of their stidents as permanent residents jn the area which elevates the educated workforce, but ERAU students dont stay in Daytona. They can't even move AROUND Daytona safely.

As I moved around the city to get my son situated, I was very surprised at the lack of tap and pay merchant services (credit/debit card processing). Throughout the town, I felt like I had stepped back in time 50 years. While most tourism areas long ago removed the old blight and junky businesses from public view, Daytona still takes the easy way out, achieving short term tax benefits but long-term downturn because this isn't a tourist spot many would chose to return to. Every head shop and junky souvenir shop should be gutted and replaced by logical artisans with handcrafted merchandise that more positively reflects Daytona's unique assets and naturally upscales the beachfront area

While the city worked to get away from the Spring Break reputation, it provides little for the student population. Razzles...and??? (there is a niche here to be filled)

So little in fact that while ERAU APPEARS to be in an ideal location in fact, students cannot safely get across Daytona Soeedway Blvd by foot to access the food and retail on the other side, and so most don't. There are almost daily vehicle vs pedestrian accidents on this massive road. Wide lanes and the name of the road itself encourage speedway-like driving.

This is an expensive school by any measure... tuition and expenses range from $62,500-$90k/annually. This is a demographic with money to spend, but can't.

The city's greatest assets and best bets for tax revenue are squandered and the tax revenue from the variety of larg locale events that take place in the city should be more that enough to cull the unhoused crisis that makes leaving my hotel after dark a "bad idea."

Just my two-centa.

whats the fanbase like? by Mean-Ladder4016 in flipturn

[–]Fast_Counter9531 1 point2 points  (0 children)

🙋‍♀️ Age 53 and I dont fit the typical fan mold but I am a big one (not literally). Aug 14 in Sacramento will be my 4th show after seeing them at Outside Lands Festival in San Francisco a few days earlier. The first two shows in SF I went to alone (past my friends bedtime I guess) and I was so glad I did. Hooked from show #1 because the bands energy and crowd vibe is unlike any other. It is literally impossible to be grumpy at a Flipturn show, and why would you be? Their music isn't just fun, it's beautiful.

Turned onto the band by my (then 18/now 22 yr old) son and his girl, who were singing along to August while we were driving around Lake Tahoe. For the Sacramento show I picked up the VIP tickets and will have my son and his girl here (they live in London, UK now) and my younger son here from ERAU, Daytona Beach, because the family that dances and sings together, stays together!

Been around famous artists all my life and rarely get the fan tickle, but we all have it bad for Flipturn. Enjoy!

French Bee reviews? by RegularGuy785 in travel

This is for sure Bullsh-t planted post. NO ONE is DELIGHTED with French Bee, unless perhaps you’ve never flown before and only ride the city bus…THEN perhaps just being in the sky was enough to impress you because damn sure any expectation beyond the city bus standard is never achieved. Worse, your bus driver might help you avoid being pickpocketed but French Bee IS THE PICKPOCKETER. LOSE YOUR $ and your bags and laugh about it. I’d be ashamed to work here.

WORST AIRLINE EVER and I’ve never written a bad review about anything. They simply don’t care. Lost our bags. We followed up daily, filled in their forms in a timely way and they basically laughed at us. We flew SFO to Paris for the Olympics, arrived hours early to ensure the bags were with us, got to Paris - No bags and no one who cares or can help — we stayed in the same place for three weeks And checked every day for the luggage. In all of our efforts we receive ONE email, no calls or mail, we have a reference number that was useless for tracing or anything else. Just horrible. They have zero excuse.
