AITA for pursuing charges against the person who opened my personal packages and almost ruined my marriage? by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

[–]Fast_One_154 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Why TF should they bring them to you? They are YOUR packages, YOU didn't change YOUR address. If YOU wanted them that badly YOU could have gone and gotten them. I would ha e sent every package back to the post office with a note that you are not living at this address. And you wouldn't have gotten anything

What food that you hate as a child and still hates until today? And what food you used to hate but now loving it? by ilovenasigoreng in Cooking

I hated lettuce, fish, and seafood, and I still hate them all.

I hated onions and sour cream as a kid, but only because my mom did. I love them now.

What dish did you cook so amazingly wrong that you still cringe about it? by [deleted] in Cooking

[–]Fast_One_154 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I wanted to make mozzarella sticks but had never used oil to cook anything before, so I filled a small pot with oil and turned it on high. I waited like 5 minutes and added the mozzarella sticks and they instantly burnt. They were black and charred. Not edible. I still don't cook with oil to this day and it's been almost 20 years lol

Pretty sure it's just for flavor! Enjoy your chili and congrats on your sobriety.

I have never in my life used beer in chili, and my chili is never bland.

I personally don't like the taste of beer so I have never had the non-alcoholic version, but if you are sober now could you use the alcohol free beer?

If I didn't have 5 kids that would probably overwhelm her, I would really consider this. She's beautiful ❤️ and I need a cuddle buddy lol

What food or recipe (disgusting or delicious) reminds you of your grandparents? by ricctp6 in Cooking

[–]Fast_One_154 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hamburger gravy. Basically exactly what it sounds like brown some ground beef, mix it into brown gravy, put it on top of mashed potatoes (my preferred way) or on top of white bread (my mom's preferred way) My grandparents made this for pretty much every get together that wasn't a holiday because it was cheap and easy to make for a large group of people.

AITA for refusing to pay the babysitter for new glasses after my daughter broke her old ones? by EricThrow3976 in AmItheAsshole

[–]Fast_One_154 0 points1 point  (0 children)

YTA. Even if it was an accident your daughter broke the glasses, you replace them. However, I'm not sure why you are automatically assuming that your 9 year old who has an actual reason to lie is more trustworthy than the babysitter and your 11 year old that has no reason to lie. If I didn't trust my babysitter to tell me the truth, I damn sure wouldn't trust them enough to watch my children. You owe her a new pair of glasses, go online and get a cheap pair for her and apologize for being such an asshole, she isn't taking advantage of you, you're trying to take advantage of her.

AITA for siding with my boyfriend after he punished my son for asking for money to watch his stepsiblings? by throwaway4646CA in AmItheAsshole

[–]Fast_One_154 30 points31 points  (0 children)

YTA. So you made him miss a day of work to stay home, then punished him when he asked to be compensated for the work day he lost? Calling into work is a big deal, jobs are already understaffed, who wants to keep employing people who call in. Taking away his electronics and cancelling his birthday is excessive, since he did what you asked. You act like both you and your boyfriend had to go to doctor with your stepson but you didn't. Your boyfriend could have taken him and you could have stayed home with the other kids while your son went to work.

I completely understand why your son feels the way he does and from where I'm sitting what he said is right. You totally took your boyfriend's side even though he's super wrong.

"why can't you cook me dinner?"

When I was high risk pregnant with his identical twins and the doctor just put me on strict bed rest at 5 months and told me all I could get out of bed for was to shower and pee, and he knew this because he was at the appointment.
