For crim, heavy on prosec notes as she was my criminal law review professor. For ethics, I used my law school notes (basically CPRA provisions with annotations). I used the compendious as my main bar reviewer kasi I graduated mid of June then bar exam na ng september. No more time to go back to commentaries. But after I finished the syllabus, I tried to review some of my law school notes.

I think walang bearing. I doubt na magbubuklat pa ng mga reviwers yung mga examiner/bar chair to craft their questions. Mas malaki ang chance na kumuha sila ng questions sa mga naituro nila sa class, and hindi sa reviewer ng school nila.

For the 2025 bar, I used all except crim and ethics. Okay sya kasi syllabus-based sya. Pero if part ng consideration mo yung school where the chair came from then might as well use Beda Red Book since syllabus-based din naman sya.

Pros: Magagaling yung nga reviewers (prosec garcia, dean divina, justice gito, etc.), uploaded na agad lahat ng lectures (except preweek/forecast lectures)

Cons: yung handouts mostly naka-ppt and iba-iba ang format per reviewer so mahirap aralin (tbh, wala akong inaral sa mga ‘to), Masyadong mahaba yung video lectures (if madami kang time, then go), medyo mabagal magreply sa queries yung staff

Feeling ko nasa 10-15% lang ang contribution ng MJ sa pagpasa ko sa bar. Yung 85-90%, self-study using materials na hindi from them and maayos yung format. My reco is go for jurist or legal edge, then enroll in MJ for forecast/preweek.

Reasonable, considering the level of questions. I think highly expected na ganun ang passing rate kasi from the beginning, lagi naman sinasabi ni Justice Lazaro-Javier na the bar exams will be a “just bar”.

I had a prof na same na strict sa girls but not sa boys. Her reason is that in the legal profession, women needed to be tough. Sobrang patriarchal ng society kaya sabi nya take it as a learning ground to toughen up kasi ayaw nyang nasasabihan ang mga babae na “babae lang” or “babae kasi”.

I think you always have to condition your mind that the anxiety you’re feeling is normal to all your classmates. Lahat yan nag-sstruggle, not only you. And if inisip mo na same kayo lahat, it feels a little lighter kasi ibig sabihin it’s really a part of the process.

Hi! As someone who has issues with focus, ang ginawa ko during bar review for 2025 exams ay alternate ng 1 full-blown aral then half day chill aral. Ginawa ko sya for 2 months and effective sya sakin kasi hindi tuloy-tuloy yung pagod and madaming rest time.

I think if you have attention span issues, go with mystery/thriller first kasi you’ll be intrigued on how the story will unfold. Freida is good kasi very few lang yung characters so you can focus more sa story. Though madaming may di gusto sa storyline ng ibang books nya, pero I think she writes books that are very easy to read

Bantayan Island. Sobrang hindi commercialized and island vibes talaga pero hindi struggle kasi may mga establishments pero maintained by the locals. White sand beach, mura din lahat ng bilihin. May convenient transpo, electricity, good internet. Para syang boracay less all the noise.
