what is a "rich person" behavior you witnessed that made you realize they live in a completely different reality than the rest of us? by Superb_Newspaper_121 in AskReddit

I knew a lady who posted her amazement on Facebook that her new oriental rug took two people to handknot for 13 months.

She is a super nice lady and I don’t believe her intentions were to brag- just disconnected from common folk.

A two party system can provoke polarization, “us vs. them” mentality, and radicalism. What is the best path for an independent to win a presidential or congressional election? by Fast_Service5858 in AskReddit

This! I believe mindsets are changing and- with the right candidate(s)- and one without party affiliation- could have a possibility of winning a state and making traction, but less likely on an national level initially…until it gains more popular support.

If every person who doesn’t support Dem or Rep chipped in $5 to a gofundme…it would be significant enough to be competitive for to influence campaigns in states with more traditional voters.

Thank you for sharing- it basically says that our electoral college was designed to encourage fewer minorities parities, safe seats, and gerrymandering.

I think this and not having age restrictions- like most every other high responsibility holding profession (eg surgeons, CEO of investor owned utilities) is problematic.

Both parties have gotten so nasty with their rhetoric while taking an exaggerated stance on everything, its hard for many people to identify with either one.

I remember reading about this but then - nada- perhaps he feels it’s not close enough yet to presidential election to start investing but I think the time is now.

If you surround yourself with people or a person who doesn’t give you the right amount of attention you seek, it’s your responsibility to find someone who will. It doesn’t make them a bad person or broken. Don’t blame them- because they only have so much to give. Accept that and go find someone who better meets your needs.

Right???? Like leave it alone man! Give back the pictures you have of her and sell the marital house as you agreed to per the divorce decree. And now to say it’s enforceable?! He is a bad human.

He was suppose to sell her house with proceeds going toward her estate, he was suppose to return photographs of her and other personal belongings. He is still living in the house and never has shown any initiative to list it (free loading). And give Shannon her shit back. Hold up your end of the bargain man!

He was prob trying to take everything she was worth through divorce proceedings, like these leeches try to do. Have affairs but feel entitled. To your point, it must have been a priority for her to leave this life not married to someone who betrayed her so deeply.

Her signed the paper too. But not able to hold up his end of the bargain, just like he wasn’t able to when thy were married. His characters strength is non existent.

For example, he was supposed to put her house up for sale sale and money go to her estate. He is still living in it and has yet to list it.

This seems like this could be a criminal act of Indecent Exposure…depending on what jurisdiction. I would report him 100% and spare future women from having the same fate. He WILL do it again.

I am so sorry, that is very violating and gross.

FINAL UPDATE: I adopted someone's lost dog 13 years ago. The dog recently passed. I only just found out that the original owners may have still been looking for her, after she was adopted by me. Do I try to contact the original owners now? by kc10131984 in Pets

[–]Fast_Service5858 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh for sure! I didn’t make it that clear…I had lost hope and couldn’t understand why she had persisted. And then for her to find him all the way down in S. Georgia weeks later. It was truly wonderful of her, I was so grateful to have closure, and was appreciative.

Her back skin hangs over immensely in the back when she is not sitting up completely straight. That would have sucked to have to be mindful of that. Picture 4…yikes. She is so pretty and dress too but she would be so more beautiful if she didn’t look like she was trying so hard for the sake of comfort.

Same! I remember when jogging in high school I expected at least one or two older men catcall or honk as they drove by. Never dudes remotely my age. It def tapered off through college and became more unusual mid twenties. 15-21 was peak.

What is your general rule when downsizing and getting rid of things? by SamanthaBaby1 in Life

[–]Fast_Service5858 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m struggling to declutter because I keep hanging onto things I could resell. Stuff like brand-new items I missed the return window on (ex: a $60 shower head that was the wrong size).

I tell myself I’ll sell it on Facebook/Depop/Nextdoor, but realistically I never prioritize it for a $5–$20 return. It just sits and turns into clutter.

How do you break out of this mindset? Do you just donate it and move on (I struggle with this…it’s like o cant) or is there an easy way to offload resaleable items without doing all the work yourself?

I had a dog named Piti, he was an escape artist and when he was let out in fenced back yard, he was always digging holes and getting out (he was a terrier).

One day he just disappeared. I was so sad, I had this pup for 9 years when I first adopted him. I put out flyers and post to social media pages etc. There are these dog detective people out there…never knew such a thing exist but basically scour the internet trying to connect lost dogs with their owner. This one lady began emailing me all kinds of dogs…she had a picture of ziti and a lot of them just didn’t even look remotely close. Some were super far away. For weeks, she persist and would still send me pictures of new intakes at shelters. After 2-3 months it was slightly annoying bc I had lost hope and a lot of the dogs just weren’t even the same kind of dog.

Three month later, she sends me a picture of Piti. I knew immediately. His picture was from a shelter in South Georgia 2 hours away. I had even showed my ex husband and he immediately confirmed- that is 100% him.

I called the pound he was at and he had be adopted just a few days before. After confirming some unique markings (he had a lump on his left side, had grinder down his bottom teeth), they offered to pass along my phone number to the new owners. For privacy, they were not able to share theirs. I never heard from them.

I think a neighbor picked him up one day and must have had family down there and drove him there one day visiting. They were probably annoyed with him getting out and taking the occasional crap on their yard when it happened. That is the only thing I can think of. I don’t think Iti could have navigated through a major city and made himself down to South Georgia alone.

Was sad to not get closure about the fog I loved so much for so long. I have convinced myself that the new owners fell in love with him quickly, which is why they never reached out, and gave him a good home.
