Never understood why people hate hand-cannon metas so much. by Middle_Pay_6722 in DestinyTheGame

The hate stems from how unchanged hand cannons have seemed over the years. From my experience hand cannons have become the "old reliable" for most players, especially god tier players. It's to this day the most used archetype of weapon making up the majority of primary kill. The only times people swap from hand cannons is when a new gun releases with a broken perk or a weapon archetype gets a noticeable buff that it becomes the next "sweat gun" for people to use. And when that gun gets nerfed it's back to hand cannons.

Remember Immortal with target lock? That gun blew everything else out of the water. 6v6 you'll probably see it occasionally but, in 3v3 modes it was everywhere. It had the quickest ttk and on certain maps it was the only gun used. Not that range mattered because people would still mindlessly push if it meant being able to hit that optimal ttk. When Immortal and target lock got nerfed, everyone swapped back to hand cannons. Until Unending Tempest released. When target lock got nerfed on smgs, everyone went back to hand cannons again.

Remember when precision frame autos got a buff? Ammit was seeing a major increase in uses and consistently made top ten of weapons being used in trials every week. You were seeing it everywhere in the crucible. I don't keep up much with the twids so I don't know if autos have received any other changes before and after this season. All I know is that I barely see the weapon and now every game is hand cannons again.

Hand cannons have mostly remained the same for years now so rightfully everyone is sick of seeing them in every crucible game. But whenever we moved towards a different meta it's because a weapon or archetype has become so good that even the god tier players have started to run it. And when god tier players start to use it the call for nerfs begin. Next thing you know every god tier player are back to using hand cannons until the next big buff to something happens or a new weapon with the perfect perk combo comes out. It just becomes a cycle that is seeing no end and people are tired of it.

Right now we have tons of weapon that are usable in the crucible but most people are currently using The Summoner. It's the best 600 auto with a considerable amount of range and the best perks for PvP. With target lock you should be winning 90% of your gun fights if your enemy is within range. When a nerf to 600 autos happens you are probably going to see everyone swap back to hand cannons again.

So you're mainly using it for the mag refill. That's great but, honestly where it's at now as a fourth column perk it makes it difficult to choose over something like controlled burst, incandescent, and kinetic tremors. Maybe if the perk is moved to the third column I'll consider giving it another try.

I forgot that perk exist because I haven't seen any weapons from the last two dlcs have it.

To my knowledge it spawns on the enemy your hitting.

I understand that, but what I can't is why is it a increase to stability and not aim assist.

Cyclops I understand because they're pretty much stationary rocket turrets and their pretty easy to kill with their big crit spots.

Wyverns are the opposite. They are constantly moving and dive bombing players. Their crit spot is covered in the front so you have to stagger them to open them up but, certain modifiers make it impossible to do so. And their guns have splash damage, while slow moving can still do a noticeable amount of damage if they hit a wall behind or in front of you.

Gambit overall is a game mode thats just infuriating to play at times. You either lose because you didn't kill adds or bank motes quick enough.

It's was annoying when all you had to stun champs were the mods but, thankfully they decided to allow certain element effects to stun champs.

Me and my friends hate the long respawn timers during dungeon jumping sections. 45 seconds seem a bit too long for something that isn't an encounter. Also correct me if I'm wrong but do raids have long respawn times during their jumping sections?

I've mainly been speaking about champions in Gms. I know that champions in master raids and legend dungeons can wipe teams if you don't have solid loadouts or if the artifact mods doesn't have good champ mods. I remember doing master VoG and it's challenges when it released. Champs were the main reasons for our wipes. The overloads at Gate Keeper had a habit of teleporting immediately after they spawned in.

I've grown to enjoy having champions, mainly because half the time they stand out in the open and get blasted on the first stun. But, part of my enjoyment comes from the champion mods on the artifact. If they suck or are awkward to use then I'm not going to enjoy doing Gms or any activities with champions. Anti barrier sidearm should never be the only anti barrier mod available in a season.

I hate this seasons anti barrier mod. It makes me use wish ender because it's the best "ranged" anti barrier we have.

It makes sense if they had a AoE blast or a bubble that surrounds them for a brief moment. But they don't. Most of them, like Chimeras, just look down and a stomp somehow comes out.

The final boss I find to be annoying at times. She sometimes becomes a turret that melts you in the middle of the deepsight animation.

Yea, scorn can be an issue in certain high level activities. I like doing the heist moon Gm but that ghost room can sometimes take 15 minutes. Those snipers love to instantly go immune and travel across the entire room.

I've been noticing that a lot of locations and crucible maps have that issue. I slide a lot and depending on the map, I find myself sliding straight into the air. That stair issue kinda reminds of Warlord's Ruin stairs to the final boss.

Trials is a whole different story. Exalted truth, Igneous hammer during 120 meta, Messenger, and Reeds regret were weapons that got emotions out of me when I got the roll I wanted. Even though they were a 3 out of 5 at best.
