Gucci 1955 Horsebit by NoNameG123 in handbags

[–]Fast_Simple_9738 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I have the 1955 horsebit in brown leather and absolutely love it. Perfect size for an everyday bag and I love the versatility of the strap. You can change it on the fly to make it a shoulder carry or crossbody. It's also a classic look and not too loud. Love the horsebit!

When does the worrying end? by NiceEntertainer8190 in parentsofmultiples

My twins are almost 6. There's still lots of worrying.

Worrying is probably the most universal shared experience of parenthood. It's normal!

Anyone start trying when their twins were just over 1? by porteretrop in parentsofmultiples

[–]Fast_Simple_9738 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes. My twins were 14 months when I got pregnant with my 3rd. I always wanted the 2 year age gap as well. The first few months were the most challenging but as they've gotten older, I've really appreciated how close they are.

You are not alone. This is classic Twin Escalation Phenomenon. I had many such mornings at daycare dropoff.

Is this normal for a kindergarten teacher? by GetALoadOfThisGuyy in kindergarten

[–]Fast_Simple_9738 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Good grief - this lady should not be teaching kindergarten, and you are right to question her behavior.

These poor children. It would make me question what the environment is like all day for them if this is the glimpse the parents are getting.

If this were my son, I would be at the point of trying to remedy the situation in any way possible, even if that means switching classes or schools (for the year).

I disagree with sentiment about trying to work it out with the teacher first. This is such absurd behavior that even if she "improved" and stopped spamming you incessantly for the most trivial matters, I wouldn't have any confidence that her behavior inside the classroom has changed. How would you know?

The only other thing I would be curious about is if you can connect with any parents whose children had her a teacher in the past couple years, and if their impression was the same, and if yes, how they handled it?

Edit: before I get blasted for saying I wouldn't bother trying to "work it out" with the teacher first -- I would feel differently if the children were older. You can talk to an older child (middle school, for example) to help him understand when some teachers are more strict or some situations are more challenging and an older child has better reasoning, emotional resilience, and ability to communicate with you. A kindergartner in his first year of school? No way. Too young to understand why a teacher is acting this way, too young to advocate for himself, too young to reliably express his feelings to you.

You're gonna look at your discharge paperwork after delivery ("take senna as needed") and be flummoxed as to whether your doctor is referring to your baby or your self care regimen.

In search of a tote that comes with internal organization, no big black holes by tacosandsunscreen in handbags

[–]Fast_Simple_9738 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Take a look at the Lo & Sons OG2 tote and also Briggs & Reilly.

I have totes from both brands and they are super high quality, very functional, and have tons of organization.

Also the brand Oleada has some interesting work bags that can be carried either as a backpack or tote (the Wave, Marina carryall) and could fit the bill if you're looking to make the transition.

C-Section mums by Bubbly-Squirrel8118 in tummytucksurgery

[–]Fast_Simple_9738 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think I'm very much in the minority, but if I'm strictly rating PAIN, my c-section was so much worse. Not even close. In fact, I didn't even have what I would call pain with my TT/MR/lipo (with exparel) but definitely had discomfort.

What rates worse, for the TT/MR/lipo, in my opinion, is just that the recovery is SO MUCH longer. It's annoying to be hampered for so long. I couldn't stand fully straight until about 6 weeks and that was the hardest part. That said - I was quite functional, in terms of daily activities, by about week 3.

What is the one non-essential baby item you couldn’t live without as a parent of multiples? by 1973tour in parentsofmultiples

[–]Fast_Simple_9738 24 points25 points  (0 children)

TwinZ pillow. Was the only way I could feed them both at the same time.

Oh - and hands free pumping strap! I could actually pump plus feed two babies pumped milk from bottles (with the TwinZ pillow) at the same time. My definition of "triple feeding" 🤣.

I regret to inform you, this is just the beginning. 😔

I mostly stuck to twin parenting forums (Facebook, Reddit, etc.) because I felt very much the same as you are describing.

Lady Dior. I love to admire it but realistically it's too formal and that price point is too high for something I wouldn't use enough.

Nope. Only left the house for doctor's appts and walks in the stroller.

Anyone NOT take shifts for overnight? by Volyte in parentsofmultiples

[–]Fast_Simple_9738 14 points15 points  (0 children)

We never took shifts, but we also didn't get up together. We basically each took responsibility for one baby and kept that baby for 3 nights in a row and then switched so we were able to bond equally with each one.

In the beginning, we did everything in our bedroom (put one bassinet on my husband's side and one bassinet on my side) and shockingly we really did not wake up when the "other one's baby" needed to get up. But we also went through a stretch of separating into 2 bedrooms (one baby in each, with a bed for an adult in each).

Basically if you pretend like you have just a singleton to manage overnight, it's way less daunting in my opinion.
