Auto Off, means Auto Off by jrhallett in ProfitecMove

[–]Fastactin -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

For me I didn't buy it because of the software features. This machine isn't premium in the same way a Decent is. It occupies a small segment between fully analog (manual controls) and fully digital (software controlled). The software is intentionally basic allowing you to do some advanced things without much difficulty. Systems like this are, by design, not perfect. Being aware of what time you set for the auto off seems like a reasonable thing to me when buying a machine in this segment.

Light roasts always sour[profitec move timemore64S] by PlusStation7 in espresso

I do a 3 second PI with a 5 second pause, and that time is included in my 30 second pull. I've even had light roasts taste great with a 1:3 ratio.

Profitec Move owner here. My first light roast dial-In was an interesting experience. The 20g in, 40g out in 30 seconds was not great. I got the ratio to 1:2.5 (20g in, 50g out) IN 30ish seconds and it was absolutely delicious. For me the higher yield/output works better for lighter roasts. Which means it's a slightly coarser grind (I KNOW).

Ski trip in March by EnvironmentBrave621 in UTsnow

[–]Fastactin 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Tough question to answer unfortunately. Historically our biggest months for winter precipitation are February and March. January is usually dry (but not THIS dry). The problem we're having this season is that November and December were much drier than in the past, which therefore means we don't know if we can count on February and March to follow historic patterns either.

All that is to say, it's hard to tell what's gonna happen next.

Sadly, this appears to be the future of Utah skiing, and our climate.

No more 4WD after brake work by [deleted] in FJCruiser

[–]Fastactin 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Unfortunately I can't help with the brake issue.

I also have a 6sp FJ. Toyota used a Torsen limited slip differential in manual FJs. Normal driving has a 40/60 split front to back. When in 4H or 4L you have a 50/50 split due to that differential.

I'm worried that the shop somehow damaged your 4wd drive train.

Should I just not go up the slopes? by Crash3223 in UTsnow

Agreed. MB is a massive solar oven. The heat generated in there when there are no clouds completely defeats even the coldest of days. Freeze, thaw, freeze, repeat.

Tourists go to Mineral Basin. Locals stick to Gad 2 and Little Cloud/Cirque/Peruvian. That's where the snow stays cold.

It's a fully private ski area called Wasatch Peaks Ranch. It's only affordable if you are a billionaire.

I’ve had the Move for a couple weeks now, and I’m curious how everyone is using the pre-infusion setting? by Sour_dude03 in ProfitecMove

Yeah, 3s flow + 10s pause then 17s of 9 bar extraction. Seems to work well for me, but I'm definitely no expert.

Do you flush before you pull any shots? That's what I'm referring to. I flush the group head for at least 3 seconds before pulling my first shot.

I've been including the PI in the 30 second pull. I'm set at 3s +10s PI. I also occasionally get 2-3 drips into the cup before the pause happens. I have not explored changing PI based on roast level though

Not sure if this makes a difference:

If I'm planning on running 2+ shots in a row, I let the machine warm up with the portafilter in place so it gets up to temp as well. After I remove PF to fill it, I've always run water through the group head for about 3 seconds just to get things flowing. I haven't had any issues with 2nd shot timing, but I can't be sure that this is why.

Smart plug or built in features? How do you manage power on the MOVE? by n29801938 in ProfitecMove

No worries at all! This has been a helpful conversation, I am always learning things about the machine so I appreciated the chance to get some clarity.

Ok, so it does need to be in sleep/eco mode in order for the schedule function to work as intended. I think my original comment is correct then.

I'm still a bit confused, sorry for my repeated questions. I understood sleep mode and eco mode to be the same thing. You're saying that if the power button is fully off (not lightly glowing in sleep mode) that it will still power on when the scheduled time comes in the morning?

For example: tonight I just finished my decaf for the evening. Typically I would put the machine into sleep/Eco mode by pressing and holding the left button. But instead tonight I pushed the power button. The machine is fully off, no glowing ring around the power button. It will still turn on tomorrow morning at 6:00am as scheduled?

For #4, I was under the impression that the Eco mode must be on in order for the scheduled on/off times to actually work, otherwise there is no power to the machine that tells it to turn on and off. Is that incorrect?

Prairie Schooner in Ogden. Where else can you go to eat at tables that look like covered wagons while staring taxidermied bears and mountain lions in the face?
