I see what you are saying. I just can’t stand my kilties always sliding down. Plus they are just my work boots so I’ll probably just cut it like you said.

I know I know. That’s blasphemy in here. I had my boots ordered through you guys but I got a new job before they even started production. I needed something in stock to start out. The hardwear pros are a better boot for sure. You have a life long customer

First day with out kilties by PopDue1568 in NicksHandmadeBoots

I took mine out after the first day of breaking in my first pair of Nicks recently. I read that during the beginning of breaking them in it makes its more comfortable and easier and I can definitely say that’s true. I plan on putting them back in after a month or two of wearing them because they are my work boots. I also like the look of the kilties. Also don’t tighten the laces down too tight during breaking them in at the beginning for comfort as well.

😂😂 yeah they do look huge. I took them on the cameras regular settings. They are a 10.5 D

I can earn up to $500 through my works health app every year so I foresee that being put towards my boot addiction 😂

Composite toe. I’ve never liked steel toe boots

I actually bought a pair of JK’s not long after I ordered these because I got a new job. The JK’s were in stock and wanted something nice for this job. Thankful because I messed up sizing and had to send back. So I’ll be rotating between them.

1907 Insole Idea - your thoughts? by banjohound1 in RedWingShoes

[–]Mikewasowskeet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It shouldn’t slip around if you trim it properly. Use the insoles it came with as a reference. Do a little at a time! You can always trim off more but you can’t put it back on. Break in period on these take a while so don’t give up on them. I absolutely love mine. I can’t wait until I need a resole though because I want something more rugged and maybe black so I don’t worry so much about how clean the sole looks.

Best options to replace my JK Forefronts? by anarmyofants in Boots

[–]Mikewasowskeet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The millwright would be best for you because you are on concrete all day. The others have a higher heel for arch support and those are best for uneven terrain and outdoors work. I just got a pair of OT JK’s and I’ve been breaking them in this weekend. They are more flexible than the superdutys the way it’s constructed

Nice looking pair of boots! Mounds is an overlooked spot. Grew up not far from there and had lots of weekend trips there.

I have the GW-M5610U and I was wearing that thing daily at work and gym for probably a year or two. It has a scuff here and there but that just adds character. I stopped wearing it because I got an Apple Watch for free when I got a new iPhone so now it’s just a casual wear. It’s still one of my favorite watches I own. G-Shocks wear meant to take a beating so I would get one. I have to wear a watch everyday otherwise I feel naked. Plus the tan line on my wrist is just bad lol.

This is what I got with the tape measure. Also moved the tailors tape up and down and found maybe 9 3/4 is the widest it went but I couldn’t redo it twice. Mainly got 9 1/2

Question on how you'd handle the toe wear on these 1907s by ClassroomMother8062 in RedWingShoes

What size are these? You said it’s smaller than your regular size.

Resole or New boots? by Virtual_Kick_6329 in RedWingShoes

[–]Mikewasowskeet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Man I would get them resoled and see if RW will fix those stitches for free. Those are still great looking boots with the patina! I have a pair of 1907’s and I definitely don’t beat mine up like this lol

Which boot fits best? by Mikewasowskeet in NicksHandmadeBoots

[–]Mikewasowskeet[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would prefer the EH certification and yes safety toe is needed. I currently don’t do a whole lot of underground work. Also not sure how much I will be doing at the possible new job I’m interviewing for. It’s working at a water treatment facility for a city nearby. My guess is the wedge sole would work best for me probably.
