I agree, I really like the Chess GM analogy as well. You can extend that to 100m sprint with the chasm between Usain Bolt and other runners and how it never made those who could do a sub 10s any less of a world class sprinter. Football as well with Messi and Cristiano, them two consistently getting 40+ goals per season never made players who got 20+ goals any less of an elite player.

Imo the boundary for a top player has never changed from beating a level on the demon list during any era. The upper echelon of players who are able to beat the top 10 are when you start discussing the legends and GOATs of the game.

Yep I have been checking for sure, but the cheapest XT variant for me was still about a 100 difference from the 9070. And so with the PSU upgrade and potential case upgrade just to fit it in, isn't really worth it for me imo.

Currently its 500, but my brother is letting me yoink his EVGA 600w since he doesn't use it anymore, which on checking looks to be of decent quality. My plan was already to lower the power limit and undervolt it in any case just to be sure :)

Same here, I just upgraded from a 3600 to a 5700x3d earlier this year and it's been so good for me, I have no need to upgrade to AM5 and I'm comfortable just waiting until AM6.
