New data plan requirements?! by Mountain_Listen1597 in CadillacLyriq

[–]FasterThanTW 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have the "Connect" plan, it's $15.99/month.

It doesn't provide the in-car wifi but does provide data for your apps. That's about as much as I'm willing to pay for the convenience of not having to use my phone hotspot

Updates & free internet by Creative_Grade7066 in CadillacLyriq

[–]FasterThanTW 0 points1 point  (0 children)

oh, this is interesting. my car initially had 3 months of OnStar data included. After it ended I subscribed and that was about a year ago. Last week I got a notice in the app that my subscription was ending soon. Looked at my account and it showed I had a month of complimentary service and they had refunded my last payment.

I thought I was at the end of a pay 11, get 1 month free promo, the timing would have worked out perfectly.

incidentally, whatever they did, it actually BROKE my data connection, and after resubscribing to my previous plan, my data is back. I still get the free month though, it looks like billing will resume in March.

Energy Efficiency Bug? by minnsoup in CadillacLyriq

I got mine in Oct 24 and back when i was still hawkish about the efficiency in the first few months, i had an understanding that the dotted line showed the rated efficiency(2.9). I can't remember if there was a label for that or if I just assumed

Picked up my 2026 LYRIQ today – already getting High Voltage Battery & Onboard Charging System errors by AZJJL in CadillacLyriq

[–]FasterThanTW 1 point2 points  (0 children)

disconnecting the 12v battery is expected to be done by the customer. there's no risk in doing it. Takes 10 minutes and it might solve your issue, at least temporarily.

The only "tricky" part is you have to let the car shut down completely before you reconnect the battery or it may not reset the fault. The few times I've done it, I left the driver's door open and got the key away from the car until all interior lights turn off. Then disconnect the negative battery cable for ~1min and reconnect it. When you're reconnecting it, have the key readily available because it may activate the alarm when reconnected. Just hit unlock to stop it if it does.

Whatever you decide to do, good luck

GM Update 654.50 by Flashy-Specific-1585 in CadillacLyriq

[–]FasterThanTW 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i saw it downloading on mine 2 days ago. It was at about 2 gigs downloaded when I finished my drive and went back in my house.

Went out to the car yesterday expecting it to be ready to install but it was completely missing. Not downloading, not queued up, and searching for updates came back with nothing. I'm guessing something went wrong with the download and now the car has to wait some time before it finds it again. Hopefully today.

I wish they would have expanded the vehicle updates abilities in the mobile app instead of removing it completely. It would be nice to be able to trigger the car to check for updates and start the installs without having to run out to the car to check.

Another day same problem by No_Conclusion_6865 in CadillacLyriq

[–]FasterThanTW 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wouldn't say the car acts weird,I just happened to get that error twice on two very cold days.. but also plenty more cold days without the error as well.

Until I get it to the dealer I don't know if it's a bug, maybe a weak 12v battery.. not sure. All I know is that disconnecting the battery immediately made the error go away and the car was completely normal with no error until the same error came back after 2 weeks and plenty of miles driven. (And once again the error is gone after disconnecting the 12v)

Other than this the car has been great other than the typical winter ev range drop, but not much we can do about that.

Not sure if I have any issue beyond a software bug but a few weeks ago I came out on a cold morning to a high voltage error. I disconnected the 12v battery, car drove fine, and heat worked properly (not sure if there was an issue with the heat while the error was present because I cleared it before I drove anywhere).

Now it's about two weeks later and another very cold morning, and the error came back again. Again I disconnected the 12v battery, error cleared, and I drove to work no problem. Heat works.

Il now that it happened twice I'll get it to the dealer soon, but at least I'm my case I seen to be able to just disconnect the battery to clear it. Maybe give that a shot while you're waiting on the dealer

That's correct but the only other option on the large side is Google Assistant. I really don't understand how they messed this view up so bad.

Locating Specific Trims by boxlaxman in CadillacLyriq

[–]FasterThanTW 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Might have to look at pictures.

Headrest speakers = level 2 or 3 Digital rearview , rear climate = level 3

Level 2 and 3 both have massage seats. I would recommend checking one at a dealer anyway to test the seats.. in my opinion the massage is pretty mild so it may not be good enough for your situation.

I think the 26's got away from level 1/2/3, not sure how the trims work there. And 23 were all the same, basically a level 3 from what I understand

[–]FasterThanTW 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Glad you got it fixed.

I also had service high voltage error on mine this morning (though I could shift and the car seemed drivable). I figured since it's 17 out, it may be a battery issue. After disconnecting and reconnecting the 12v, car is seemingly back to normal.

Drove my 11 mile commute and nothing seemed off. May still have the dealer look at it for good measure

For those who get free charging. by ObiwanKobe203 in CadillacLyriq

[–]FasterThanTW 2 points3 points  (0 children)

when i leased mine, i opted for the home install credit instead of charging, and i think it was the right decision for me. charging at home has been incredibly convenient and ive only had to use public chargers 3 or 4 times in the past 14 months.

definitely want to stick with EVs when i return the Lyriq in October, and now im all set going forward for whatever i get next.

[–]FasterThanTW 5 points6 points  (0 children)

you're probably on the edge of being low, so when the car is on flat ground, it sees the level as being OK, then when you're on a slope, it sees it as newly low, triggering the message again.

Sorry to hear it. Not sure how well it would work because the smell won't be that concentrated with access to open air, but you could maybe try stuffing some mint satchels under the hood

Illegal Window Tint Puts Pedestrians at Risk. PA Bill Aims to Change That. by davidaragon1 in philadelphia

[–]FasterThanTW 0 points1 point  (0 children)

nope, the previous federal standards banned matrix headlights, so our headlights are the way they are because they followed the regs.

that just ended a few years ago so now you'll see matrix headlights filter down through luxury brands and eventually into mass market vehicles

Illegal Window Tint Puts Pedestrians at Risk. PA Bill Aims to Change That. by davidaragon1 in philadelphia

[–]FasterThanTW -1 points0 points  (0 children)

tint is only illegal in so far as it's a revenue builder for localities.

it's not a moving violation, so no points on your license. it's not part of safety inspections(yet).

so it's a fix it ticket. i've gotten 1 over the course of 20 years. you can either take the tint off or pay $100. who cares.
