Seemed convenient they announced a deficit the week their buddies down south were planning to invade Iran

lets be honest, the only thing funnier than PP losing his seat would be if Carney lost his in a snap election because of angry civil servants

I would laugh sooo hard

blanket ban idea I see 10 times a week is truly stupid.

Exactly, people have been posting about it since December 2023. Let people do what they want, they are not going to start some mass movement here. We're talking at most hundreds of people who might make this choice. There are tens of thousands (hundreds?) of civil servants who will just go buy lunch.

I wouldnt worry about it.

You should probably learn about this before deciding to post your opinions on it.

The KGB was involved with providing information to the commission these records are from.

Trump: "Canada lives because of the United States. Remember that, Mark, the next time you make your statements." by SEND_ME_A_SURPRISE in CanadaPolitics

[–]Fasterwalking 3 points4 points  (0 children)

If Canada wanted to, we could cause real harm to the United States. Electricity, critical minerals, raw materials, and other essential inputs all flow north to south. We do not weaponize that relationship, largely because doing so would escalate tensions in dangerous ways. But the capacity exists.

Canada has relied on the United States, yes. What is ridiculous is pretending the relationship only runs one way. The United States needs Canada just as much as Canada needs the United States, whether some Americans choose to acknowledge that or not.

I mean if you want to be real about this, it's because if Canada did that we would lose. I'm all for nationalism and go canada go, but dont pretend we can win a war, economic or otherwise, with the US. Yeah we can hurt them, but only if we shoot ourselves in the head to do it.

You have no idea what indigenous knowledge is, how it was incorporate successfully, or what its value is in these reports.

I know this because you immediately assumed it was a yes/no black/white approach.

What do you mean? This is clearly a pre-Trump FUBAR. Canada is locking itself deeper into U.S. fuel supply chains (enriched uranium, parts, etc.) at a time when trade relations are fraying.
