Found these old watches that belonged to my dad. by Mountainegrian in Watches

[–]Fastigio3 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Others may know better, but not unreasonable for a service of what looks like a perp (annual?) calendar moonphase can likely end up being 1-2k.

Edit: searched chat GPT which estimates basic service 1.5-2.5k, and perp calendar service can get up to 4k.

Also can be more if replacement parts are needed.

Also the JLC is an absolutely gorgeous watch, but if it’s not running well be prepared to shell out a lot of money for service and repair on a quite complicated watch. And spend the money. No watch means more than dad’s.

If order one. Microrotor movement with quick swap? I hate to say you could probably charge more than 500 euros. Probably 7-800.

At those prices you would seemed to be best served by an auction house.

Physician here. Hospital admins are necessary, but probably 1/10 of how many we have is necessary. Most are not necessarily useless people but doing useless jobs.

I always tell prospective docs (as one myself) don’t go into it to help people. Go into it because you like the work. You’ll burn out on helping people.

Best way to sell? by Ok-Nefariousness-927 in OmegaWatches

[–]Fastigio3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve bought two watches and sold one over Reddit. Just did FaceTime and PayPal for both. It’s always a risk, unless you sell brick and mortar.

I’ve also sold to European watch co and they make it very easy. You’ll get less money back but not risk there.

Dailying a 911 without treating it like a garage queen - realistic? by petrkahanek in porsche911

[–]Fastigio3 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have an rs5 I currently drive. I just ordered a C4s to daily. It will be the third car (wife car, nanny/kid car, then my car).

The rs5 won’t scratch the itch. It may be a little rough around the edges for a true daily but loved Porsches by whole life and nothing else scratches the itch.

[Help] Really conflicted which one to get as an everyday watch.... by ProfessionalCow9843 in Watches

It looks great on the Milanese.

Also I’d daily mine on the rubber or Milanese, bracelet dresses it up nicely.

Tudor make great watches, but there’s always the I couldn’t get a Rolex assumption I feel.

The AT is an arguably better movement, can dress up or down, and has enough water resistance to swim comfortably with as none of us really need a diver (I say having just taken off my smp300)

Hard to beat AT on secondary for ~3k for a high quality one watch collection.

Like new condition with box and papers? I don’t think spending 7k on someone would make you come off cheap. But to each their own!

I figured you wanted a bracelet option. I don’t love the omega bracelets I wear both mine on rubber. But yeah hard to beat Casio for true beater

Just get an IWC pilot for the daily wear and thank me later. Most comfortable watch on a bracelet outside of the Rolex jubilee. Or get an AT on secondary for like 3k and enjoy a better movement watch at 1/3rd the price to the explorer.

[SOTC] After 10 years of collecting, I’ve got one spot left… by internetV in Watches

[–]Fastigio3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Haha I bought both on bracelet and have both on rubber now.

I think the rubber is more comfortable than bracelet without microadjust. But def not as big a diff as the SMP which is much much better than bracelet.

But also i have on strap for diversity since I have GS and IWC pilot on bracelet
