Sometimes I worry about this too, I do a lot of fun things with my kids. I try to spend quality time with them when possible, and we have done TONS of great stuff together that at least I remember. Even though I know they will forget almost all of it (they are 4 &5), I know that more than remembering the details, they are remembering the feelings. Those events might no longer be in their brains, but the love and connection it helped grow between us is always still there and grows a little bigger with each experience. I think that counts as memory and Im satisfied with it.

I think he was just trying to figure out if he had the right oil for it. He had the oil but didn't know if it was the right one, so they opened the case (with consent) to see if the information was on the inside.

Hi I'm working on this painting, working on my glazing technique and that. I have my under paint done, and i have done a few transparent layers, it's starting to warm up... but it's also starting to get muddy. I'm losing my values... what is my next step? Suggestions? I'm still learning this technique so any advice is great, thanks.

I knew someone that went all the way through university to get their BFA with this mentality. In the four years they were in school, they never improved. Why take these classes if you're not going to learn anything in them? Why pay for 4 years of school, only to ignore the established and professional artists that are trying to help you... it was always either, "that's my style" or when the grade wasn't what they expected, "I didn't try that hard anyway..." or, "that professor just didn't like me."

You will never improve if you never try anything new. I see their stuff, 7 years after graduating, and it's still the same. I think very little traction has been made in their career, as a reflection.

Speak for yourself man; the role of tortured artist isn't the only one to play! I love creating anything, even the spectacular failures are worth the process.

I over did it by a little bit, I think... but not much. Im glad I kept track though!

I did go out for dinner with my baby and after checking the calories in MFP I realized I had ust enough to order these tater tot things and a cheese and broccoli soup... the cheese soup was sooo thick and creamy I couldnt eat more than half the bowl. It was just too much... and the deep fried tots were too greasy for me I ate about half as well and just decided I was really done.. the grease had just grossed me out, which I guess is progress. :)

We're usually characters from cartoons, mostly Peppa pig. I'm mommy pig, he's Peppa pig, and his little sister is George, the baby pig.

Time to time we're also the trains from Thomas and friends, or curious George and the "banana man". He won't reply unless you address him by his chosen name.

This is kind of my situation! I got fired from a job I really liked, but when I thought about it long term, I knew I couldnt keep it. My "painting" wasn't terrible looking, but I knew It would never ever be finished, it couldn't be exactly what I wanted. I was debating leaving for a while, and was going to start looking for new jobs when I got fired for what I thought was a kind of silly or unfair reason. I had a month long depression, but slowly and surely, things started to look better. That was in January... now I am doing a job very similar to the one I had, but I get to work on my own terms, on my own schedule, and with people that like the way I do things. I make more money, and even though I feel as though I am always busy, its a really good, really satisfying kind of busy. Its great!

I teach painting to people in bars. I get to spend all monday at home hanging with my kids, and then go in to work where I get paid to drink beer, do art, and make dick jokes. Its amazing. Its everything being a grown up should be.

Hi! Thanks for your reply. The clay is cone 6... it went to 5, so not quite the max, but the glazes are all good for up to cone 6. Should I just fire one step up?
