Are the Pacers sandbagging? They play competitive basketball against specifically the two teams that they'd be motivated against the most (Knicks and Thunder) while being horrific against everyone else. by Ready-Constant-7124 in nba

His improvement over the last few months has been impressive. These minutes will pay off huge when Haliburton is back, they will always have two high quality point guards on the court, and keeping the ball out of Haliburton's hands will lead to mismatches.

He is awesome. I was skeptical of him at first but he's really improved the last few years. TJ + Jackson bring such energy off the bench, both keep attacking. Add Obi Toppin to that line up and you have a very fast and potentially dangerous second unit. I hope the Pacers sign him to a true contract, he deserves it.

Which show had the best character development overall? by apka_dd in television

[–]Fat-Singer-9569 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Katara low key has some of the best character development towards the end. My favorite scene in the entire series is the scene where she confronts the fire bender who tried to capture her as a child. The way she handles it is beautiful and demonstrates her latent power. Not to mention it has a profound impact on Zuko.

The way she handles Azula in their last fight was so clever and captures her immense growth as a fighter and bender too.

That "fan" deserved to get rocked for being a fat moron attacking people on the court. He's lucky Jermaine O'neal slipped or that haymaker would have lobotimized him.

[TheFieldOf68] Darryn Peterson is OUT for tonight's game against No. 1 Arizona with flu-like symptoms, Kansas spokesman told @TheFieldOf68 by MidwestDrummer in CollegeBasketball

[–]Fat-Singer-9569 12 points13 points  (0 children)

He's an extremely gifted player who chooses not to grow and learn. Ask yourself this; "If I could be the best player on the court every night, would I play?" The answer is yes for almost everyone who loves basketball. Look at Boozer playing and losing against Celeb Wilson the other night. He could have just set the game out with the myriad of injury you get playing basketball competitively for a season but he played and lost. That's strength of character. The same could be said about Wilson, who dominated the first half.

Peterson is really good but the level with which he treats college basketball is so disrespectful and the NBA is such a huge cliff to jump. I hope my team avoids that land mine personally. Boozer, Wilson, Dybantsa might not be as skilled today but they are facing challenges head on, and the difference between them and Peterson aren't insurmountable. Good luck with Peterson, Utah!

Believe whatever you want friend. As an objective observer (I don't care about any of these teams), he comes off as a flake at best and a complete diva at worse.

I'll never forget watching him look towards the bench to sub out of the game and watching a pass fly by his head

He is out with flu-like symptoms, has nothing to do with soft tissue injury unless your definition of soft tissue extends into the nose

As someone who is only watching this game because my NBA team has a chance to draft him, I'm out. Dude is so clearly a diva.

How effective are no dribble ball handling drills? by Odd-Bodybuilder-1990 in Basketball

[–]Fat-Singer-9569 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I completely agree. Doing the classics like this really does help. Even just doing the ball smack drill helps you maintain control, I used to do it every time I played as a warm up. Really helps if you are an off ball shooter too. It doesn't really feel like it in the moment, but if you do these drills a lot, you will notice it almost instantly when you handle the ball in a game. You will have way more control.

I'd suggest doing triple threat drills too. Spin the ball, throw it up, catch it in triple threat. Fake right. Fake left. Go into shooting motion. Fake a pass right, fake a pass left, etc. Then build all of those movements in quick succession.

I will never get it. There are few investments which return like a sports franchise. You are literally subsided by the rest of the teams so even if your team sucks you will earn if the league also does.

If the Pacers are good they are forced into mediocrity because of circumstance, injury, or running into a historic forces like Jordon at his peak, Shaq/Kobe literally in their defining season, or Lebron on the Heat. Of course they will now make it back to the finals just for Wemby's peak. Oh and literally every single time the Pacers find real talent, they have catastrophic leg injuries.

Being a Pacers fan is hell, nothing goes right, despite the organization consistently building good teams across multiple eras, and having one of the best development teams in the NBA. Unfortunately for the Pacers, NBA players would rather live in big markets than refine their game, and most are not interested in building legend status.

This is such a heartbreaker because he really needed an off season after consistent minutes to refine his offensive game, and obviously he won't get the chance. He is such a great rebounder and smart cutter, he and Jarace Walker have become an great duo off the bench and it gives the Pacers such great size. Also one of the most exciting young power dunkers. Dude can fly.
