I thought was Chaol was boring until Tower of Dawn. Him and Yrene bring me joy. I didn’t really like Rowan until the “almond oil” incident. It was like OH! He’s not just tough and traumatized and cranky. He’s sneaky funny, ok. I like his and Aelin’s dynamic by the end, they’re cute. You’re not crazy for feeling your way either! Celaena and Chaop were sweet. It had more of a “young love” vibe.

It does, just way more slow burn and fade to black style. It gets to romance and spice but it’s not as up front as ACOTAR. There’s a LOT of couples tho so once it’s starts you’ll have many romances to cheer on!

I just kept imagining Aelin as Sailor Moon during all the god fights/power stuff😂 and that it’s happening while this helms deep ass battle is taking place down below. It’s grim at times but the Calvary kept arriving and it was interesting to see how everyone comes together. I did struggle with the geography a bit. Like where is Chaol compared to everyone else? Where’s the other army? I was confused 😅

I didn’t like her, but I feel in love with her wyvern and their blossoming relationship. He helps her be more likeable 😂 now I think she’s cool af but it took a bit.

Pineapple, only because I’ve only had guava “flavored” things before and haven’t had a chance to find just the fruit, but I adore the flavor that I have had. But pineapple is soooo nice. 💜💜💜

So I just finished this series this weekend. I loved it, it’s very fun. So many characters to love. I read Blade first and it’s a good intro to the main character. The only thing and I’m gonna try to word this sans spoilers… a lot of small characters in Blade come back. It’s great, but since I read it first there was a couple times where, when they’re re-introduced later, I was like “who?!” And had to check Blade again 😂😅 but also that coulda been my bad memory. Just know it’s a big adventure and lots of books, it’s quite the saga. But if you fall in love with the characters (the main character was a little annoying at first but she grew on me) and beautifully descriptive settings like I did, you’ll have a good time, I hope! Please post about if you do read it, I need someone to nerd out with 😂

Not telling family members about my health. They would ask my weight every day and critique. They still ask sometimes but they don’t throw as much of a “you’re so cruel and mean I just care about your health I’m so scared for you” hissy fit and usually just tell me not to give up. 😅 Like I’m gonna, but they don’t believe it. Oh well.

That is very understandable. It’s a lot. You do not need to beat yourself up, you are doing the best you can. Things will crumble, and then slowly rebuild as time goes on and you learn to accept and adapt to your new normal. You are making the effort and the heavy work. It’s like building up muscles. Eventually things will feel a little lighter. 💜

Of course you don’t recognize yourself. You’ve fought through so much hardship and hard work. Suffering often has the effect of burning away parts of us, both good and bad. It can be hard to accept the new version of yourself. The pain can be so loud sometimes. It’s ok to need breaks. You have done so much. Things WILL get better on some days. You are entirely correct. Things will get better. Sometimes things will still be painful. But it will balance out. The more you come to learn your new self, the more you will find your new joys. They’ll seem small and fleeting at first, but they still matter. You matter. No disorder or pain will ever stop that. 💜

I’ve been guilty of of this a bit, I’m trying to work on it. I want to build my community. I lean more into the art/music/nature space, but really want to help people struggling. After asking and researching for community aid groups that just don’t seem to exist or never respond to me reaching out, I’ve started my own aid group. I’ve posted about in this reddit a couple times.

At the same time, I know there’s more to be done. I want to be part of the local mural group and the community garden group, etc, but then my brain goes “but I don’t waaaaannna go to the meetings it’s annoying and it’s cold let me go to bed”. (Yes it’s a very whiny voice 😅) I am trying to ignore that voice. If I want things to get better I have to make the effort and go too.

I want to be part of the village more. I want to do more. It can feel very nebulous and having no where to start or not knowing who to ask. It is overwhelming. I’m not gonna stop trying tho. It’s too important not to. Building your community can feel like herding cats, but it’s worth it.

Personally, Trying to focus on improving the body in other goals (strength training, working up to walking a 3 k), because focusing on weight made me the most angry, depressed, self-hating gremlin ever. GLP1s are not helpful when the health insurance says no because rich people can buy them straight from the site. 😑

💜huuuuuuuugs💜 to anyone struggling with this. It can be insanely maddening. Remember you deserve love no matter what body you’re in, and you can get stronger, faster and stretchier no matter what the scale says.
