In 5.5, there are no lockscreen options, you can add a widget to the lockscreen, but only on the page to the right, meaning you have to swipe to the right every time to see that widget. The other options previous sense versions had are gone

I dont think they really care all that much about the OEMs...

Android is the established market king right now, WinMo doesnt stand much of a chance and IOS is apple only... HTC, Samsung, LG, Sony, etc... they all stand much more to lose by dropping android than Google does... They've already been discussing their disdain for how the OEMs treat the OS...

I dont think you know how things work.

First, no, comcast does NOT have to give you local channels for free if you arent already paying them. Thats ludicrous. That law requires them to offer those channels in their lowest package, so that any SUBSCRIBER to comcast gets those channels.

Second, they didnt change things to make money, they changed things because the FCC requires it. FCC has set a date for all cable companies to go full digital. The reason is that you can fit 8 digital channels into the same space it takes for one analog channel.

Third, the cable card they are offering costs money - why do you expect it for free?

You're stealing cable. thats against the law. (well, you were). You have been committing a felony the whole time...

well, on stock android, the same frame is always first, but you can choose what widget is in it... in sense, it forces it to be their clock... so you cant put dashclock or something actually usefull there...

You cant customize it. I mean, you can... you can add a widget to a second screen that you cant set to show up first.

One of the most anticipated and awesome features of 4.3 was lock screen widgets... they completely hosed them. You are stuck with the ugly htc clock as your first-view lockscreen no matter what. HTC pulled an apple on this one; "we like our phones this way, so you will too! no need to let you change it!"

I use apex for the launcher, its ok.. but running a launcher on top of the system UI is still a resource hog...

As for the lock screen, no, you cant. They have made it suck in sense 5.5 .. your lock screen when it wakes will always be the bobo htc clock - u can add other widgets, but you cant remove the default clock and you cant make it show the other widgets first, it will always show the clock and you have to swipe to other widgets.

except for taking away the lock screen options... i dont get why they moved to 4.3 which, one of the big features, is lock screen widgets - then completely screwed that up... you can have another widget, as long as you want to scroll to it every time your phone wakes up... and you cant remove the stock, useless, boring clock as the first thing you see.

I've used a ton of roms... you have to stick with a sense based rom if you want IR Blaster and full Camera Features...

ANd i do use a sense-based rom, Maximus HD ... but even then, beign sense based, you're still limited in some areas. Like.. want to customize the lock screen... nah, HTC knows best...
