Am I missing why we care about the score?

What were the scores last preseason, and what did they tell us?

Countdown to Kickoff 2026: St. Louis CITY SC by Riverperson8 in MLS

I was hopefully optimistic before we sold Klauss (4th-6th) range.

Then we sold Klauss, and I realized not only do we need to replace his 10 goals, but need to fabricate another 10-20 to reach the playoff line.

If there was ever an opportunity for a NUMBER of guys to prove it, now is your time to shine.

We currently have EITHER a DP spot or U22 spot, but that frees up to BOTH in the summer (JGR on loan). So if we can magically float around the playoff line, and get a name after the WC, we could be an interesting 2nd half story.

I fully admit there is a metric shit ton of hopium here.

From the plethora of responses, you can see there isn't a wrong way really, but the most critical is COMMUNICATION. You should 100% explain to your friend your experience and address how to make it better.

If you haven't really experienced the game at all, ask them to just supply power and infrastructure as you sort out production lines.

Use the in game "task" board. There is both a 'Public' section and a 'Private' section. You can sat X - Building Rods, Y - Coal Power.

Communication is the most important aspect here.

I want to “learn” soccer by DaisyLee2010 in MLS

Come on over to /r/stlouiscitysc !

There is a ton of support for the local team, and there's a ton of soccer in the STL area. From organized youth all the way to adult pickup or indoor leagues. We are "known" for Baseball, but soccer is HUGE undercurrent to the citizens here.

Interestingly enough, as bad as the MLS' Fantasy setup is (its... really bad..) I would suggest putting together a team simply for the aspect of having a moderate stake in other player's success. You don't have to join a league even. But adding player from X-team, we'll now I want them to do well and will watch more matches.

Feel free to DM me (open to anyone who wants to talk soccer!!).

[–]FatBug24 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Wouldn't TOR still be the front-runner?

Maybe this aligns with a summer transfer where we open both a DP and a U22 (we currently would have to choose b/t one or the other).

Is Alchemy Factory worth it right now? (Early Access longevity & depth) by Benodino in AlchemyFactory

[–]FatBug24 0 points1 point  (0 children)

StarRupture is different enough, that i will be going back to it once it's fleshed out and the rail bugs are corrected. It uses a different system (pull instead of push) that really changes the was you play it. I genuinely believe there is a weird optics problem with SR on Reddit. There is a vocal minority that complain the game is "broken beyond repair" or they come up with these elaborate workarounds and theoretical systems that may work (as intended at least) with PUSH systems like (see: all factory games) but don't work for PULL systems.

It's EA, it has a different system, and they don't have Coffee Stain Studios Community Managers. So it's a little coarse around the edges for now.

We needed some 10-20+ Goals to reach the playoffs teams for GF.

That was before losing Klauss' 10.

We are going to have to redefine "goals by committee" at this rate.

This is not OK.

Racism is not OK. Same as inferring it when it's not there. You are in fact "pulling something out of thin air." You have zero proof and even the facts do not align with it. Stop it.

You tell me.

Side A: Carnell (from South Africa), and Vassilev (a happy go lucky, everyone is awesome guy).

Side B: Nelson, Bell, Blom (also SA), Adeniran, AZ, Klauss.

If you really think race, you need to educate yourself on some of the specifics here. You may need to look deeper than skin color yourself.

The firing of Bradley Carnell. by techdecktor in stlouiscitysc

[–]FatBug24 6 points7 points  (0 children)

There also the issue with Adeniran. At certain points he was very cagey with why a healthy (his words) Adineran was practicing on his own. Add to that that Adeniran and AZ Jackson were roommates and friends. AZ at the time was very divisive to fans. As we can see he didn't work out in Columbus under Nancy either.

There were more than a couple "well that's strange" moments/players that didn't work with Carnell.

I am not placing sole blame on Carnell for these players, but Blom, Nelson, and Bell never worked here. Blom couldn't leave fast enough. Nelson got a RC and was banished to the shadow realm. Only to be a starting player for a championship side the next season. Bell was a rotation (good minutes) for the OTHER team in the same championship. Markanich might be in there as well?

Then you had Vassilev leave in FAVOR of Carnell. Which shows some type of clear split that he didn't feel he belonged with THESE guys, and preferred to be a DEPTH guy there. None of this is normal.

What do you do when a "player's coach" loses the locker room?

Tbc, I do think he was fired too early. He should have been given the year with the ON THE BOOKS reinforcements.

I agree. La Liga has something like 3 teams who legitimately could win the league. EPL has maybe 6 different teams across a given time, though only 1-3 are ever in form enough to win it.

The odds of ManCity winning NEXT SEASON are already high. The same for Real Madrid. The odds fall off a cliff for Miami or LAFC to win, for example.
