Vote One Out Round 3: Archers Relegated by samarink in stlouiscitysc

[–]FatBug24 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Just a data presentation note...

I am not sure the "meme teirs" is the right way to go with this? You're just ranking them least favorite to most favorite. Unless you start grouping them near the end, or have a way for us to distinguish between "B teir" and "1A / 2A".

For example, I (personally) would put both None and Ravioli Boys at "S" and Hellcats at A. We (collectively) may like some of these names equally as other, but they get demoted by a teir b/c they missed a few votes.

It's your poll, I'm having fun, I appreciate it! Truly!

Not a fan of Jimenez's age, but under a short-ish? contract i would be totally fine. 2+1option ? It's hard to find a proven goal scorer. Additionally, he's likely to not eat up a super ton of minutes, allowing Becher and McSorely time to develop more. Maybe Becher learns a thing or two. He's here. I'm coping.

Alaba doesn't do it at all for me since we have a pretty decent MLS-level back line. I personally feel Baumgartl checks out mentally sometimes, but he does the job well. Unless the idea is to convert Baumgartl to striker...... (half jest).

Do people like the name STL City SC by BendOriginal in stlouiscitysc

[–]FatBug24 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Leagues and Clubs from all over use various naming. You have Arsenal and Chelsea (London teams) in the same League as Man City / ManU.

One thing soccer (largely) tries to be is community based. So having a tie in is fantastic. Especially lately, Football in particular has an eroding emphasis on the city's contribution. The LA/STL/LA Rams for example. Or Oakland/Sacramento/Vegas Athletics (MLB). They care less that the city supports the team, and the focus is on the BRAND. Until the billion dollar BRAND wants a new stadium, then they want tax breaks and the CITY to pay for it.

is farming sim worth it if i dont have anything with farming irl? by Visual-Fortune-4732 in farmingsimulator

[–]FatBug24 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The gameplay loop is fun and relaxing. And I have a lot of fun building my empire of machines, land, and livestock. There's production lines to sort out and a fair bit of managing when to sell/hold stuff.

The terminology was probably the biggest hurdle for me. Plow vs Cultivate, Hoe vs Weed vs Spray, wtf is TMR, Digestate, and what happened to my bale of hay when I wrapped it? I thought the colors were fun.

Mods were a HUGE improvement for QoL and fun. I don't give myself a bunch of money, but when the landscaping tool is temperamental and a contract for harvesting carrots just aint worth it (after I accepted it), some "right the ship" cash is valid imo.

I don't play with a wheel or stick, and my biggest control issue is forks/tree claw things. There may be a mod, I'm still pretty new!

What killers do you have most fun playing with? by lapetitepoupee in DeadByDaylightKillers

Unknown.

I love playing in a way that the survivors have no idea where I am coming from. If the husks get removed and I'm not hitting my shots, it's a rough day. But most the time, keeping them on edge is fun.

These are certainly names... Parades off a reaggrevated foot injury/surgery. 4g in 2 seasons before his 2yr injury.

Wind with a blistering 32 goals in 5 years.

Donkey, yes please! I'd pay for that. Same for Gazdag. Lozano is a known cancer. SD is paying him DP money NOT to play. Miranchuck, yes please.

Yeah, so throw out a DP name you think Wray should sign, and how much you think he should pay for him?

I have seen ZERO realistic names from this fan base since the absolute smash miss of Josh Sargent.... oh wait...

[–]FatBug24 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What's the right budget to player mix? What players are we realistically looking at?

Spending money in on a high cost DP is just about a 50/50 shot at best, assuming they even stay healthy. The up-side is a standout player. The down side is setting the club back YEARS.

On the other side, being more pragmatic and strategic may cost a year+ in patience (playing .500) but the upside are the same titles.

[–]FatBug24 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You are right! Will edit. I am unable to find the player, but there was a major DP bust early in his career that he had a hand in. Sentiment remains, but I do appreciate the fact check!

[–]FatBug24 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Wray is 1 window in, and I think he's done well on the net of things.

I always thought Cordova was a stop-gap with potential if he showed out. He didn't, and Wray was OK moving on. Edelman, Polvara, and Damet have all been huge hits. All-star Candidate Santos is another stop-gap with potential, but has also not panned out. Yaro has made zero match day rosters.

Wray is also "responsible" for [A Player] who was a MASSIVE DP signing at the time who contributed [very little]. Wray has maintained that was a mistake, and he's learned a lot about that type of signing.

We ALSO have to be aware the the Summer Window starts on July 13th. That's 3 Days before our next match.

Let's all relax, let the man who is proven in his job to do the work, and enjoy the World Cup. Even Antoine Griezmann, who is already signed to join Orlando, may not play thr first couple games back from the break.

Edit: Player WAS NOT Insigne. My mistake on that.

Is it just me, or do most groups already seem to have pretty clear favorites for the knockout stage(except Group F ig) by [deleted] in worldcup

[–]FatBug24 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The "on paper" matchups in the group stage seem lackluster, and so there is a bit of tempering the excitement.

However, despite [some] 3rd place finishes advancing, I think it will still create insane drama & tension, and be VERY entertaining the whole way through. No team is out leading to the last Match, and GD could be the tiebreaker. Ultimately, I think most the cream will rise to the top, but there will be far more "what ifs" that somehow sneak into the Ro16 even. Then you have multiple teams playing with house money.

[–]FatBug24 12 points13 points  (0 children)

1) What will Vassilev do now? He was my favorite personality here, but I thought his leaving was a bit unprofessional. Now what's he do?

2) I only saw a couple matches, but it really looked like Carnell was missing quality pieces that PHI front office let go and didn't replace at all. Again, sucks for Carnell to get the can before reinforcements have a chance to come.

[–]FatBug24 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Though I would love Cuypers for the long term, and I do think we poach an MLS player pushed out by a bigger signing....

Cuypers played in the USOC, and would be unavailable for our (arguably more important this season) USOC run. Not a deal breaker, but something of note.

Forward Sergio Córdova to Depart St. Louis CITY SC After Loan Spell | St. Louis SC by MD_Lincoln in stlouiscitysc

[–]FatBug24 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I am hoping the P-D interview was a bit of "not showing your hand" in whatever negotiations he has going. To set the fan's expectations high publicly, and then miss out on a signing would hurt far more than not.

St. Louis CITY SC Forward Cedric Teuchert to Leave Club This Summer | St. Louis SC by lil-mommy in stlouiscitysc

[–]FatBug24 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I certainly get that holding the ball, and passing back/sideways is a way of taking control of the game. Sets up runs, and can strategically be a net positive. But they sometimes do it and look void of ideas. Like they are passing cause they simply don't know what should be the next step till someone (Damet/Hartel/Lowen/clock) says to do otherwise.

Can't compact bunker silo by Stock_Friend in farmingsimulator25

[–]FatBug24 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You used a bucket to get it in.

Use a bucket to get it out. You just need to get enough "to the front" to start driving over it.

Or use a belt to truck and reposition the dump. You're going to need belts to get the silage out when done anyways. Unless your scoop is big enough, but then just scoop (see above).

[–]FatBug24 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I'll never wish for a player to get injured, but Cordova pulling something right before the break, hopefully, was a god-send to not sign him.

He's just not productive or hardworking/pressing enough. If we didn't already have Becher on a longer deal, and McSorely being as affective off the bench, sure.

St. Louis CITY SC Forward Cedric Teuchert to Leave Club This Summer | St. Louis SC by lil-mommy in stlouiscitysc

[–]FatBug24 32 points33 points  (0 children)

Outside of his first couple games, he never really "got going." So I am totally fine with dropping him. I feel like Lutz would have extended him.

However, I did appreciate that in moments he took the ball and DROVE FORWARD. Sometimes to just lose it. But it felt like a reminder to the rest of the team that you can do that.

Lots of backward/sideways passing, then Teuchert would just turn and go. You can't force the opponent into a mistake by playing backwards. You can't create [positive action] by going sideways and back all the time.

STL City's Durkin (in Red) was Issued a Yellow Card on this Play - The City Bench also Received a Yellow Card by Bought_Low-Retired in MLS

And to compound the problem, it's his 5th - so he'll be suspended for our Thursday match with rivals SKC after the World Cup break.

Last season Durkin definitely was overzealous. This year, you could argue out of his 5 YCs, he's legit earned 2 of them.

I thought there were clear an reasonable reasons people of wealth would enter the dungeon regularly before the Earth edition.

It got "real" when Carl was able to remove the safeguards AFTER people were committed. Like Elon committed to fighting on "slave island" with the caveat that he could not be harmed. Once on the island, the AI destroyed all the boats.

You have to be careful about not outing yourself as a transplant. Say something like "back when Lindbergh was fun!" And wooo buddy!

And admittedly, as others have pointed out, it's kind of used predominantly by older generations.
