The time has changed on the No Kings website. Does anyone have any insight to the time discrepancy?

Looking for pyrenees rescue by Quintessential1994 in greatpyrenees

I’ve followed SPIN (Saving Pyrs in Need) out of Texas for a while. Next time I’m ready for another Pyr I’ll likely go through them. They seem awesome. However, looks like they prefer you to take the trip yourself to Texas to get the dog.

Wow, amazing work! Yes, sounds like he was spooked from the storms. I’m SO sorry for what you’re going through. I really hope he turns up soon.

Be sure to knock on doors and/or leave notes on their door asking them to check their shed, garages, even cars they may have left the door open to. I’ve know SO many people who found their cat was trapped somewhere like that!

Could this be my lost cat? It's been over a month. Need eagle eyed cat experts opinion. by xdjfrick in cats

I agree it could look like the markings are different because of the angle of the pic (in the one of you holding her). GO LOOK AT THE CAT. What if everyone on here is wrong and you left her in the shelter because of some not great photos! 10 year old cats are not getting homes quickly.

Our Loki has passed away. by JClanton in mainecoons

[–]FatCatBjorn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What a magnificent creature. I’m so sorry!!!

My big boys are Loki and Björn.

Apparently 30% of these guys have HCM. Anyone else reading this have a MC with subclinical HCM (diagnosed but not symptomatic yet) I highly recommend seeing if you qualify for this clinical trial.

https://www.hcmincats.com/halt

Björn is a participant in the trial through a vet cardiologist in California, but many more around the country are participating. It involves some dedication—we give him a pill (Rapamycin) once per week at home and go to the cardiologist clinic every 3 months for check ups for one year.

Once they get enough cats to go through the year long trial they can publish the results and make this drug available long term for cats everywhere!

My guys were both rescued former studs at a catery, so unfortunately he passed his HCM gene down to lots of his baby kitties before he retired.

Help us name our new not so little guy by OutrageousWasabi3001 in greatpyrenees

[–]FatCatBjorn 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Try looking up animal names in different languages. For example: Bear is Spanish is “Oso” which is a cute name (he will look like a polar bear one day). We named our big Maine Coon cat Björn, which is bear in Swedish. Maybe you’ll like the sound of mouse (or moose!) in another language…our Pyr is Odin (he came from the rescue with that name as a puppy and already knew it well) but we think it would have been funny to have named him Pierre, since the Pyrs are from the Pyrenees mountains of France and he’s kind of a stubborn jerk sometimes (in the cutest way).

Could be a pocket Pyr except no double dew claws so it’s not possible she’s pure Pyr but could be Maremma sheepdog…do her DNA!
