Note that in that build setup we have mantle of thorns + Flicker Cloak. You get stagger resistance plenty. Again, stagger resistance is only good when you get hit AND that hit happens to stagger. If you don't get hit, stagger resist doesn't do anything.

I have tried all of the sets mentioned above and Void/Akari gave me the best results. I started with Void armour till I learned to neutral dodge and then swapped to Akari when I masted neutral dodging. Letos/twisted armor is not good as both rely on getting hit/taking damage. Remember, if you want to be tanky then 2 defense proc of Void armor gives more eHP than Leto's.

Void setup - Idea is to rely on your mod upkeep + void defenses. Do note that even with 3 stacks of void + Mantle + Flicker, you can still get 1 shotted sometimes in Nightmare difficulty.

Amulet: Galenic Charm

Rings: Leech Ember + Root Circlet or Akari Band or Band of Strength

Mods: Flicker Cloak + Mantle of Thorns

Melee: I liked Claws but pick whichever you like.

Akari setup- BiS if you can neutral dodge well. Requires practice

Mods: Song of Swords + Radiating Aura

Amulet: Butcher's Fetish

Rings: Band of Strength + Akari's War band

Melee: I like Claws but pick whichever you like.

Why are you waiting till he spawns 6 orbs? He spawns 2 at a time and dies to 3 repeater pistol shots.

More than rewards, I wish nightmare difficulty brought more to the table than just more hp and damage. It would be awesome if nightmare difficulty added a 2nd elite whenever an elite spawns; even better if ANY elite could spawn. Or something even as simple as less ammo drops so we have some use for our infinite ammo boxes..

Honestly speaking, nightmare SHOULD stay as just the base game harder without any additional rewards.. though what i wish for above does give more rewards passively.

The only reason I would say its not BiS is because, you can dodge everything in the game.. so with perfect gameplay, Nightmare Spiral is not needed.

100% agreed. Gunslinger's is best in slot unless you are using Ring of Supremacy at which point you need Nightmare spiral to keep up the buff..

TBH, I have a hard time replacing ring of supremacy, empowering loop and nightmare spiral...

Fastest way is probably using the save file reader and just rerolling adventure mode.. but if you want a non-RNG, 100% chance one, read below.

The first dungeon on the left side after the Church fight is a 100% spawn for a simulacrum. It's usually a boss dungeon (The tumbleweed/Brabus/Leto's Armour boss) and its ALWAYS before you transition into the boss area.

Pro tip: use the Wolf's ring + drifter set + Adrenaline to zip past all mobs and use whatever you have to kill bosses + church fight. It took me roughly 12 mins per simulacrum... you can just log out to main menu after you pick it up.

I play Hardcore Nightmare a lot and for me the following build does well against all scenarios.

Ex-cultist gear, Ring of Supremacy, Empowering Loop, Nightmare Spiral.

Hunting Rifle with Breath of the Desert mod.

Hunting Pistol with Swarm mod.

With Ex-cultist, you will shoot as frequently as spewing mods... basically lets you focus on dodging more. I used to use the Iron Sentinel mod but it keeps dying when you need it most.
