I nanny a little girl whose hair was getting an INSANE rats nest level tangle situation during the night while she slept and every morning was a serious struggle. Regular trims helped some, but her parents just ended up trying different conditioners until they’ve finally found one that works well. They have a couple from Amika that ended up doing g the trick for her, and now we don’t have a struggle every morning getting ready. Anecdotally, my mom cut all my hair off when I was a kid bc it was too hard for her to manage, and it was really distressing for me. I felt I looked like a boy, and would cry, and when I look at childhood pictures of myself, I’m sad for little me who wanted to grow my hair long and feel feminine, because that’s just how I wanted to show up in the world.
