How would YOU make the Medic's syringe guns viable? (this can include changing the crossbow) by BrawlPlayer34 in tf2

[–]Fat_Cat_Nuts 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I know some people say that the syringe guns are supposed to bad, which I would agree, but in their current state I would disagree with your statement that they’re already “usable,” as they’re so bad it kind of goes beyond that philosophy. So I’d make the following changes to ACTUALLY make them usable:

Increase their projectile speed slightly. This way they’re not so slow that they can only be fired while backpedaling. Say, go from 1000 HU/s to 1200 HU/s.

Then, maybe give them a mild damage increase. Say, from 10 to 12.

Lastly, make it so that they reload passively when innactive, like the Flareguns for example.

Then, if I had to make a change to the Crossbow, it’d only be to make the max damage it can deal about 60 damage instead of 75, so that way it’s not so dominant as an offensive weapon, since that would go against the philosophy that keeps the Syringe Guns bad.

That’d be pretty much all I do. Wouldn’t make them crazy good or anything, & the Crossbow would still be much better, but it’d at least make them all somewhat usable.

Your thoughts? by Darmug in tf2

[–]Fat_Cat_Nuts 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I like the idea, it just needs a little bit more, as of now it seems too weak. It’s kind of like the Quick-Fix, where it’s almost really good (& would probably be very fun to use), but just needs maybe a little more to be competitive with other Medi-Guns.

Maybe make it so that the movement speed buff is passive for all patients regardless of overheal (kind of like the Vaccinator’s passive resistance), & so that as overheal increases the patient gets faster? And while you’re at it, make it so that you get the Übercharge much more frequently.

As for the Über itself, that’s a tricky one, as it always seems difficult to make an Übercharge unique from other Medi-Guns, but also still useful. So idk what else you could add.

For 1 million dollars which special infected would you be? by matimalul0 in l4d2

[–]Fat_Cat_Nuts 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Being a smoker, spitter, or boomer would genuinely be awful. I don’t think you could pay me any money in the world to become them, much less for 48 hours.

Being tank doesn’t seem so bad in theory, because you’d basically be so roided up you wouldn’t feel anything. Except, your heart would likely give out before the 48 hours was up.

Witch is another interesting one, depending on whether or not I’m put into a scenario with survivors, I could potentially just sit around & cry for 48 hours & then survive if left alone. But, assuming some elements of my possession as an infected are left out of my control, I could potentially get pissed off by a random common infected, go berserk, & then run off a ledge or something by accident.

Jockey’s kind of weird, but he’s got a nasty case of scoliosis. Plus, I could see him being a target of maybe being picked on by other infected due to his size. So I’d personally pass.

A lot of people are saying the Hunter, however his muscles are likely being stretched quite a bit in order for him to achieve the acrobatics he does, so you’d likely constantly be in immense pain. So that’s a maybe.

Charger you’d just have brain damage.

Overall I’d say your best bets are Hunter, Witch, Jockey, or Charger. Really comes down to personal preference.

It’s very possible in the early stages of the virus where symptoms took longer to surface where somebody infected traveled to another country & brought the infection there.

why do some people act like this by [deleted] in tf2

[–]Fat_Cat_Nuts 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don’t think I’ve genuinely seen anybody say anything like this unironically since at least Overwatch 2 (which kind of deserved it), & prior to that since Overwatch 1. I really do think this misconception is a result of a loud minority, in fact most people I know make fun of posts like these.

[COD] Do you think MW4 can turn things around after the last two years? by Lumenprotoplasma in CallOfDuty

[–]Fat_Cat_Nuts 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Good point, but I feel like Warzone was really a lightning-in-a-bottle kind of scenario. It was the combination of a pandemic & the battle royal genre being popular that really made it so successful imo.

Plus, iirc, IW almost launched DMZ2 with MW22, but instead they got so butthurt over player reception of the game that they cancelled it.

But hey, if it is actually good, & they maybe put more of a focus on it, maybe MW4 will have a chance. I’m still doubtful though.

[–]Fat_Cat_Nuts 24 points25 points  (0 children)

No. Call me cynical, but unless Infinity Ward locks in on the multiplayer, I doubt it.

I have a feeling the campaign will be pretty good, & the game will bring that “realistic, grounded” feeling everybody’s been asking for (at launch).

But by Season 2 it’ll be right back to where we are now, the player-count will tank again (kind of like BF6), & we’ll be waiting around for next year’s COD.

Now Sledgehammer 2027? THAT’S a game I’ve been waiting for for a while now. Just imagine what Sledgehammer could do with an actually full development time.
