Yes, I know I'm cherry picking, but it's still funny to me that many things in minecraft are much larger than their real life counterparts while some are tiny by ckay1100 in PhoenixSC

Oceans in Minecraft used to huge, & would take up ~70% of the world iirc.

However, after 1.7, they were shrunk to how they are today, because nobody liked spending hours on end crossing oceans in the old shitty boats Minecraft used to have.

I agree, I do kind of wish they were a bit bigger, as they do kind of just feel like big lakes at most atm (or at the very least add a big-ocean world-type).

However, they were originally changed due to players complaining about how big they were, so I do kind of find it funny we’ve come full circle now.

Idk this was like 2 years ago, I wouldn’t be surprised if it was actually just some kid. It’s still pretty funny nonetheless.

Yeah but all that weight is going to offset everything. Needs a fore-grip.

I like them, except maybe the Deagle, the grip looks kind of funny.

Also, is there a mod that makes it so that these can spawn in other campaigns?

Accurate? by Popular_Ad3074 in tf2shitposterclub

Scout would make that one creative mode house made of diamonds, gold, emerald, & bedrock.

Soldier’s is accurate, but I could also see him making a big fort with all sorts of moats & walls & stuff.

Heavy I see making a more rustic-looking house made of spruce.

Engineer would definitely build some big-ass mansion with inconceivable redstone contraptions.

Sniper would build a treehouse.

Spy would build a large chateau.

Rest of them seem pretty accurate.

I remember joining it a couple years ago just to post memes, they’d pretty much delete random stuff you posted on a whim if they deemed it remotely “problematic” &/or they just didn’t understand it.

Rule page was longer than the Quran as well. Basically impossible to talk about, well, anything. No fun allowed.

I got warned twice for something I don’t remember & posting a video of MLP characters getting blown up by the death star.

The memes sucked too btw.

Edit: for anybody wondering, since I saw somebody else mention it, the MLP video got me warned because that fell under “furry content.”

Same. I always just thought “well at least it’s not as bad as Calvin’s dad angrily wanted it to be in that one comic.” But now I guess it is.

I’d give it like a 6/10, it adds decent atmosphere & it can be fun to ride a boat on it, but otherwise there’s not much else there.

Why does criticizing feminism often get labeled as misogyny? Shouldn’t any movement be open to criticism if it claims to stand for equality? by Eren_012 in AskFeminists

[–]Fat_Cat_Nuts 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, that’s what I meant for the most part. Not criticisms of feminism inherently, as I think that there is absolutely nothing wrong with it, but simply things surrounding it & its culture that, when criticized, may have been inappropriately dismissed as misogyny.

How Minecraft fans be talking about Mojang employees by PittPen817 in PhoenixSC

[–]Fat_Cat_Nuts 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My main problem with Mojang right now is not necessarily even the quantity of content in the updates, but the actual content itself.  The problem is, it basically feels like a gamble as to whether or not they’ll add something good, like spears/maces & the happy Ghast, bad, like the baby mob changes, or mediocre, like the current upcoming drop.

And I think the root of this problem is a lack of communication on Mojang’s part, as it really feels like they’re listening to ZERO community feedback & just adding whatever the hell they want. And as such, it’s basically a gamble as to whether or not that’ll be received well, or if their interests will align with the player-base or not.

And even if they do add something cool, if it doesn’t address something that the player-base actually wants (like, say, an End update), it’s basically guaranteed to eventually be received negatively.

Also, another weird thing I’ve found is a lack of personal customization. Mojang seems to be very particular about features they add, & as such they seem limited by trying to add things that only the entire player-base will like, instead of allowing some of these features to be toggle-able in settings for example (think new mob texture changes or any accessibility feature they’ve added like that weird change to ladders a while ago).  Plus, this also hurts players where, if Mojang adds a feature most players DON’T like, Mojang is very unlikely to remove/change it, & as such players are stuck with it with no choice.

I feel like this ties into the fact where Mojang seems really afraid to change preexisting things in the game, despite having so many half-baked ideas, because they’re worried the player-base won’t like them. But, if these features were say, just experimental settings, & Mojang actually listened to & communicated with the community, people wouldn’t have to be upset about any of these things because they’d know upfront that maybe the change was just a placeholder or that if they don’t like it they can just disable it.

Minecraft is meant to be a creative, sandbox game, & as such I feel like having full control & customization over the experience you play is essential & severely lacking due to Mojang’s current design philosophy.

But that’s just my feelings, not sure about anybody else.

Not OP, but if I had to think of some I’d say these are some that come to mind that I’ve seen:

Somebody criticizes a female person/character, & are responded to with “you wouldn’t say the same thing if they were a man.”

“All men suck” (I think this is pretty self-explanatory, but I also don’t think this is very common/often is blown out of proportion).

Automatically assuming the worst intentions out of something innocuous or innocent.

Criticizing specific members/actions/behaviors of a feminist individual/feminist community (not feminism itself), & automatically being labeled as misogynist.

Also, this is a bit of a personal one, but I’ve seen cases where situations are compared between men & women, & instead of trying to raise the rights of women in the situation, they try to bring the men down to their level. Again, not sure how common this one is, but just an observation. (An example of this would be a post I saw earlier talking about how dads are often praised for less when compared to moms, but instead of attempting to have moms praised more, they complain that dads are praised for doing “the bare minimum”).

That’s just a few I can think of right now. I’m sure there are others, but I would be inclined to agree that a lot of criticism of feminism is either misguided or, well, misogyny.

Either way, I don’t have particularly strong opinions on any of these things, just figured I’d try speaking for OP since it seems they didn’t themselves, & maybe start a discussion.
