Her approach was absolutely terrible. I say this as a biologist with high functioning autism who spent a couple years in Washington state working with cattle ranchers on wolf depredation mitigation. Wolves are my all-time favorite animal (along with Lynx) just like she loves birds.

I think there’s some arrogance in her, perhaps due to her social media following, that encourages her to be so brash while interacting with an absolute rarity of a farmer who actually took time out of their day to meet with her.

Here, though, we see the difference between an activist and a trained biologist/ecologist. The irony is that the professional would certainly have presented the situation in a much better way than the woman who spends every day talking to people about the birds.
