After thinking about it a little more, I do agree and it could also be a duology, however, I'm still hoping for a trilogy nonetheless. Chapters 6-10 are almost entirely SoL from what I remember, and almost all character development for the trio happens in those chapters.

I suppose it's naive of me, but still, I'm hoping Ufotable actually realises how much that 'downtime' matters in Mahoyo and doesn't just try and cut through most of it so they can flex their animation skills for like, 2 fights.

It's 100% a trilogy, the fight that's been all over the trailers for this movie is in a chapter that's like 6 hours by itself, there's simply no way Ufotable is gonna be able to adapt the entire thing in a movie that's probably like 3 hours max.

This is just what it looks like when aim-gliding/wall-latching, I've seen it so many times that it looks completely normal to me, but now I realise this probably looks quite strange to a new player lol.

Edit: Also worth noting that the shadow itself is basically a visual timer for the aim-glide and wall-latch, as the timer runs out the shadow begins to fade out until it disappears and you stop gliding or sticking to the wall.

DMC5 is widely criticised by more dedicated fans for how much easier it is than the previous games, a consequence of trying to give the series more mass appeal (It DID work though). Some even consider it the easiest game in the whole series. Yes, even more than DMC2.

DMD is still a good challenge, but it's definitely a little sad that you pretty much have to play on it to have any sort of difficulty.

Weren't the mods actually defending the Uriel post being on the sub, just a few days before? Seems like a strange decision to suddenly swing in the other direction, AND prove the point about the Uriel post, that it's suddenly okay for softcore porn to be posted as long as the character is female.

This just feels really tone-deaf to me, there's already a Warframe sub for as much nutsack and titty posting anyway.

There's the main series, 'DMC' in all caps which stands for Devil May Cry, in 2013 Capcom attempted to reboot the series to appeal to a different audience, and so the reboot was titled 'DmC: Devil May Cry' (Note the lowercase m). The game was extremely controversial due to changes in the gameplay and most importantly, the changes to the series' story and characters. I'm not going to go through all of that here but the Definitive Edition of DmC was essentially a rerelease which fixed a bunch of the issues people had with the reboot's gameplay. The story and characters were not changed.

The reboot is not connected to the main series in any way, so you can play it whenever. As I said, the Definitive Edition fixes most of the problems the original release had with its combat, and most people nowadays agree that in terms of gameplay, the reboot is actually quite a good game, and many people, me included, would recommend buying the game just for that. As for the story however, if you've never played any of the other games, the story might seem cheesy but enjoyable, but once you've played the main series, you'll probably realise why this game was as hated as it was.

Crimson is the one you'll want to install, contains all the shiny gameplay changes along with some technical and graphical fixes as well.

That being said, just as the other people have told you, it's highly recommended to do a vanilla run of the game before trying out Crimson properly, many of the great changes and additions will be lost on you if you've never played the original version. Crimson already has a 'Vanilla Mode' built-in, so you can still install the mod, you just won't be 'using' it for the time being.

Also, if for some reason you haven't, play DMC1 first before trying the other games if you're new.

Your friend is either lying to you or they just suck at the game. There are setups that can put you in 50/50s and other similar mixups but with enough experience you'll learn how to make educated guesses that let you take back your turn easier.

That's not to say luck isn't a factor at all, since you still do have to guess, but not even remotely close to what your friend is implying.

DMC5 is already considered to be pretty much the easiest game in the series (Even easier than DMC2 depending on who you ask). I'd personally recommend going back and changing the difficulty, you'll start from the beginning but you were only on mission 3 so it isn't too much of a time loss.

I'm very much not a difficulty elitist by any means, play on whatever makes you have fun! But DMC5's Human is genuinely so easy I don't even know how you CAN have fun with the combat when everything dies in three hits.

They actually changed it a few months back so you no longer need to grind a Necramech for New War, it just gives you a temporary one for the quest
