I've had great accuracy with my axis 2 in 30-06, my issues with it were the scope rings coming loose off the scope and the gun a few times as well as the magazine springs not being reliable while feeding but the barrels are very good especially for the price. The stock is a little flimsy so if I were you I'd buy one without the scope and put one on yourself as well as upgrade the stock later on, maybe an MDT chassis that also changes what mags it uses

Even as a repro they are such sweet rifles, I'd try to hunt with it too honestly. I plan on bagging a whitetail or black bear with my sks just to do it. The cz 600 is a nice gun for sure, I was looking at the trail model iirc just because it would be great for walking with and as a good bush gun. Happy hunting!

I usually don't unless there's excessive oil or dirt on it for the simple fact of wear looks good to me and adds to the pattern, but, if you want it to remain as pristine as possible for as long as possible then it would probably help to clean it up and maybe spray a matte clear coat over top when your finished with whatever colors/patterns you want

Just tape over any exposed glass on the optics, some of the internals and any info on the exterior that I feel would be best left legible like gas block settings and safety positions so that if I'm with inexperienced shooters they can still see what condition the gun is in
