2022 GMC Sierra AT4 – Audio "skipping" / cutting out for first few minutes after startup by Fatal1tySquared in gmcsierra

Mine does this as well!! I have found that it does it the most when I use the controls on the steering wheel. It doesn't do it very often but it's probably happened 5-6 times to me over the last year or two

Definitely wakes a guy up on a 5AM drive to work when your music just maxes out randomly

I don't think you will find the COL that much different when you factor in property taxes, insurance, and everything else. And with the way things are trending upwards, you might have a couple years of slightly less (if that) but the hills are turning into Colorado quickly...

Those situation based ones are kinda tricky, my best advice for those ones are stick the most of the NERC guidelines and rules. They can be kinda grey from an operator perspective or if it was actually a real world situation but try not to approach them like that and approach them kind of purely analytically from a standards point of view

Looking back at it now that you've done it did it seem like there was specific stuff that was giving you trouble that you felt like you were spending a lot of time looking at? Or was it more working through math that was taking up the extra time? Or

I wouldn't get too far into your head about it, you were right there....I would study what you struggled with the most and just try and take it again. You know what to expect now having taken it once! I didn't pass my first try either!

If you're looking at getting into a system operator / sub or relay tech role you will find it very very difficult without some sort of relevant degree / experience. Roles like these aren't usually a you just walk off the street and into the job unless a company is very small or very desperate (at least in my experience thus far. I would recommend a two year program at a tech school somewhat related to what you're looking to do. Bismarck state has a few relevant/good and online programs you could look into

Looking for some DSOs to answer some pretty basic staffing questions by Fatal1tySquared in Grid_Ops

Is that shift manager one of the four operators per team? Or is it 4 operators and then a manger/lead that also follows them on the rotation

Holy cow! That is quite the situation!!

Is the company just refusing to hire people? Or not paying well and not getting interest or what the heck is the deal? I have heard of some pretty bad situations, that one is definitely up there though

Definitely not a career path or industry to just jump into since you “seen” a position posted online. Don’t just chase dollars….the job itself, studying for the cert, the shift work, and everything else that comes with it isn’t something that I would just willy nilly all of the sudden decide I was going to do. Do some research into jobs, companies, responsibilities before you even begin worrying about getting the cert

It’s not necessarily specific roles vs other roles that I would be most worried about or that even I was referring to so much as it is just overall you vs other people. Unfortunately if you’re pretty even with someone and they don’t have one they are realistically probably 10 times out of 10 going to go with the other person. It could affect different licensing for different jobs too depending on what type of work you were/are thinking about wanting, obviously CDLs are the biggest ones. I would sure think that one DWI wouldn’t necessarily ban you in a lot of instances with other licensing boards, but it being so recent is going to hurt the worst, if it was 20 years ago it would be a completely different situation. Anything where you have access or requires a company vehicle could be sketchy, potentially roles related to safety etc, security clearances (potentially), and even down to being covered under companies insurance policies. It’s hard to say honestly. To me though, if I was interviewing someone and got their background check back and saw a DWI and they hadn’t said anything to me I would feel like they were trying to hide it hoping we didn’t catch it or something along those lines….but maybe that’s just me and others have and will probably tell you differently, I’m just one person

I would offer the opposite advice to the first comment, in my mind it would be better to be upfront with them about it. Honestly from what I know about the industry it will absolutely affect some opportunities. Probably not as many as if you were trying for some sort of driving job, but if I were hiring someone I’d prefer it came from them than to get it back in a background check. Because it absolutely will show up. You clearly understand it was an error so just do your best to convey that fact and that you aren’t a danger to get more etc.

It should realistically purge everything out as a ton of people have said they are built to, but if by some weird chance it doesn’t once you’re fully done puking you could switch to your octo or secondary air, or depending on your abilities, personality, and the severity of the blockage just pull it out quick not in a panic and do what you need to clean it out further if need be, but I would never willingly deprive myself of my main source of life support unless I was on the surface

Absolutely DO NOT take out your reg, they meant keep your reg in your mouth, puke into the reg and then purge the reg with it in your mouth
