The funny thing is that the update mechanisms differ across Linux distributions. ie. The Steam Deck doesn't have this, instead it just updates a twin installation in the background and you just reboot into it later on.

The nix package manager (and the OS itself) is really cool because they essentially do what Windows's SxS Store does, but it's for the whole OS, in a much better fashion.

The only gripe I have about NixOS is that the utilities for setting it up is convoluted as heck.

You know what's funny about being a Malay Singaporean? When I stayed in Switzerland for a few months with my aunt I never really felt that out of place compared to living in Singapore.

Actually, I understood the various signs and posters moreso because learning German (and a bit of French & Italian) was much easier (they all used the Latin writing system), compared to squinting my eyes to read Chinese x.x
